Hey boyz, i took my centre console out the other day to repaint a few bits that where in need of a touch up, anyways long story short, the part which holds in the cd player and air con dials has broken, well the plastic clips have snapped and i took it out the same way i did when i first painted it, it still sits in as it did before but is very loose and eveytime i put in my head unit the cd player will move etc, i will be getting some more console pieces or even a dash kit but does anyone have any ideas on what i can do to hold it in untill i do buy some more dash pieces, i was thinking glue but when i go to change it over im afraid i wont get them back out???

any info or suggestions would be great!!

cheers

i used a bit of blue tack wen i was painting it,til i put the screws bak in,you could also use some duck tape or sometin, when i pulled everythin out i basicaly ripped it out and nuthin broke, its a shame you broke those clips

learn from your mistakes man
could always try the wreckers for parts,or ask the mitsubishi dealers for replacement parts

Liquid nails, silicon, aldralite, tarzan grip, ductape etc etc....

Don't bother with mitsu- it'll be like $400 or something. Definately try wreckers......but centre console parts are in high demand all over australia, coz they're so damned fragile and hard to dismantle....one of the worst centre consoles i've ever taken apart. The worst would be hyundai and old old cars with brittle plastic.

BLU TACK works a treat, my entire console is held on with it :)

Just takes about 2 packets to hold it all on there.

Ive also got my cd player rack holder thingy held together with wire :)

if you've still got the clip, i'd just try a whole heap of superglue
