Just a quick question, was taught when younger to test if wheel bearings stuffed.. (apart from occasional noise) you can tell by if the actual wheel is getting red hot just after been driven on even for short distance etc. This is the case of my gf's car both front wheels.. one hotter than other thou.... does this mean wheel bearings? or is this just the case in fwd cars ?

jack it up and see if there is movement, as in, say left front wheel, left hand at the front
and right hand at the rear and start pushing/pulling.
