I bit the bullet today and decided to get some new leads. I'm almost certain I've been running on the original factory leads until now. (160000kms)

Anyway, what an unbelievable difference it's made to the car. I almost don't recognise it. It's idles smoother, revs easier, the engine seems quieter and its more responsive on take off.
I'm almost certain it's gonna have improved my fuel economy. Once I have an idea of the figures I'll post it up. Currently getting on average about 15.5l/100kms. (I do lots of short trips)

So the morel of the story is, if you aint change your leads in a long time and after a cheap performance mod... do it!!!

I bought some NGK spark plugs and Champion Steel ignition leeds today (they didnt have ngk ones) to do a changeover, also getting a K&N filter in the mail any day now so it all helps

Sick of my paper filters, K&N boosts 50% more air efficeny (got a recharge kit also)


p.s they suggest changing both the leads and spark plugs at the same time, also check your distributor cap and rotor, might also be benefical to do them all at once

I did the plugs a couple of weeks ago. Didn't make much of a difference. I guess the performance of your engine is only going to be as good as your weakest point.
I went for Champion plugs and leads.
