Ok........inspiration for this goes to Mysti and Eek....I have ALWAYS wanted to do fluff.....but when i did the interior the 1st time this was still mums car and she REFUSED to let me fluff it....Well.....Its mine now
Spent a few hundred on this (Holidays time filler-inner) andddd sooo farrrr
Made custom fibreglass angled door pods for the front woofers....ive always wanted to fibreglass and i said while i have time ill give it a go....its actually really straight forward and fun only crap thing is the sanding.....
Ummmm moved the tweeters to the 4" hole in the dash and now the sound TOTALLY DIFFERENT its amazing what some simple staging can achieve!
Umm did the parcel shelf in fluff too....its bare now....but fibreglass will have a say in how its going to look
And re-did the amp racks so they are vertical...looks much much better now compared to how it was before...and of course did the sub box in fluff too, re-painted the ports and yeah all good..
not enough i hear? Whats that...you want more useless stupid mods?! well im wayyy ahead of ya....
It now houses a million color LED kit.....2 on the roof...and 2 in the footwells......and it has its own remote control of course
So yeah....3 days NON STOP of work to get this looking the way it is.........photos are crappy but meh.....ill do a proper shoot when i ooooo dont know have a license..
Here are teh piccys
Oh and painted the parcel shelf light....why....cause i was bored ...it was a nice day and i was armed with paint heheh
And for all you nay-sayers who dont like fluff.....you just gotta touch it.....

I'm gonna go against the grain and say it looks horrible! The vinyl/leather look was much better. But hey, whatever floats ya boat :). I'm just not a fluff person, i like it smooth baby.

Damn you did a good job on those door pods!
Brilliant first effort!
[TUFFTR]
21-09-2006, 07:21 AM
WSDsmurf - I didnt pay alot of money for them to be called Neons!!! They are Million color L.E.D Sticks Dammit!
Thanks Piota! I was just going to purchase some but i though damn, for the same amount of money i can learn a new skill and it will take up some of my time......So today ill be continuing work on my new parcel shelf...
....I hope they dont fade:cry:
But the pics are crappy.....When i get some proper photos done it'll look wicked cause the fluff is actually metallic hahaha
Also with my el-cheapo camera.....is there anyway of making it so when i press the button it takes the photo right away? With my camera (HP M407) I press the button and it takes a good 1-1.5 seconds for it to actually caputre the image....and in that time holding the camera its moved a million times and every photo has come out blurry.......anyway to just make this go click, snap?

You've obviously never touched the fluff...
Top job, Tuffy... I still have to get around to doing my door trims.. although I might go a little bit shorter on the interior.. cos the fluff in my boot malts worse than my cat! I had to brush the damn thing to stop it from malting everywhere...
You need to do what I did to your boot too.. Put another piece of mdf over the front of the sub box out to the edges of the car to hide those gaps. Looks much neater..
But good work!

lol honestly i put it in the same category as sheepskin seat covers. Just not a fluff person i guess, sure it feels kinda cool, but it looks ghey. If it were mine and i HAD to do it, i would have gotten that fluff that's very short haired, almost like a fine silk carpet. Now that's the sh!t right there. But i prefer the leather look anyday.

The metallic red fluff looks really good. Do you know the name of that red ? I hope the fluff on the rear dash doesnt go funny from the sun. I bought some cheapo carpet from the salvage and it litterally crumbled into dust after a while.

Are the LED's flush mounted or are they sticking out? I reckon:
Cut out the roof lining to slot the leds in (have seen it done, looks alot cleaner) and then placing a frosted plastic cover them that sits flush with the roof lining. Would look really well i reckon :).

And the speaker pods are covered in paint:P they came up pretty well.........the tweeter pods i didn't go ahead with cause they sound f**king kick *** in the stock 4" speaker hole, so i left them there, the stereo sounds completly different now becuase i can actually hear some highs..before it was all muddled and ghey.
Thanks though, hope ya like it when ya se it next:)

To be honest with ya, Im not a fan of fluff. Im more into leather and suade, but mate for a job that u did yourself that just looks tops. My old TS had the same interior as yours, and I can understand ur want to ditch the stock fabic...looked hideous...straight from a couch in the 70's i reacon...I always wanted to do mine in black leather...now you just have to get the seats re-trimmed :P

Ahhh seats re-trimmed? If i had the $$ id just get some nice cushy sports seats....she handles exceptionally well around corners and the stock seats dont do much in terms of keeping your body in a straight line..
some people like it, some hate it, same as with my vynal, and nudgebar, and wing, etc etc etc so meh its all good to hear opinions...
and to re-do the trims, with some awesome glue, only took me 3 hours!

Not bad. The only concern I had was the clips that held those parts on, I wasnt sure if I removed them, whether i'd be able to re-attach them. As for holding the material down, wasnt too sure what to use either. In the end I decided not to change it due to selling it
