View Full Version : pod purchase delema
went to have a look at the price of the k&n pod filter at repco today - and was informed that for my model (tj 2002) since its got an air mass something :? putting the filter on without modifications will create more problems than benefits...

Yeah, have another chat with him. Although wrong, it does indicate a level of car and education on their part. KN-MAF is your friend.

basically he is referring to the MAS sensor standard on magna and lancers... dunno about the rest of the mitsu range
not an expert but the sensor reads the airflow entering thru the air intake and sends info to ECU... ECU will react e.g. fuel micture etc
a pod will affect the airflow readings because it causes a 'ripple' effect and this may affect the way in which the ECU will respond

And RPW has them in stock all the time - the correct oval ones.
WE can ship COD or we can send it direct freight if you pay direct bank transfer.
You could have it within two days or 5 days depending upon how you wanted it sent.
With the pod we also supply bolts and some universal brackets to make fitting easier.

Read: Strips of tin...
*edit* Have you changed this at all David? When i bought mine i was very dissapointed.
Galvanised strips of tin you can buy as a roll for $5 for 20 metres doesnt see like a "universal bracket"

The tin strips are currently supplied free of charge and are there for those people who may or may want to use them.
We are in the process of making proper brackets as we do more cars but have not yet done one for a magna TE model on.
