Hey guys i knwo its not a magna question but, i want to know some info on speaker level amps. Basically my gf barina has an integrated stereo, she wants a bit more bass, so i was thinking of an speaker leval amp and a cheap 12 inch driver.

However the question is this, if i buy a speaker level amp does that mean she will lose the channels that are being used by the amp.

EG: She has only 2 speakers, if i use those speaker wires to provide the sound for the amp, would i then need to buy a four channel amp to power the speakers and a sub.

Any help would be appreciated.

No. The input impedence is such that there negligible load placed on the channels.

You are fine to use a 2 channel amp with speaker level input.

hmmm your saying that the car only has 2 speakers which i guess would be at the front. if there where speakers then you would be able to do it but you would have to get rid of 2 speakers so that you can get a sub (thats if you want one). using the speaker cables as input for the amp is the way the deck will send the signal to the amp then to the speakers. do you have a diagram of the sound set up of the car? maybe check around on the internet to find it cause maybe the deck might have output for 4 speakers but is only 2. if it has an output for 4 speakers then you can buy an 4ch amp to run your speakers and amp
