does it have to be a 15"? i would personally go with the type-r cause these are great subs but you would need a dencent mono block to run it. and your best bet would be to get a 4ohm sub as then it can be wired as a 2ohm sub giving you more power from your amp

both the subs are same price. so i was goin towards alpine sub cause i can pick that up its only half hour from me and i know that it goes allright and doesnt have to be but thats there the only 2 decent subs i have seen for a month without buying a new one the alpine has hardly beeen used still in original box hasnt seen a sub box yet. so im leaning towards the type r unless someone thinks i shouldnt?

seeing as that sub is only 500watt rms and you bridge 2 channels it might provide enough power to move the sub but not alot. are you sure that the sub is a 2ohm sub not a 4ohm?

preety sure its a 2ohm sub
~350W RMS from the 4 chan on 2 channels would be alright for now, but that sub would easily handle 750W RMS daily. might be better off getting a Response 800W mono for the sub, and a 2x80 or something for your speakers.
even a 2x150 would be better than the 4 chan :)

300WRMS is fine for a type-r. If you want more db, put it in a more efficient enclosure. Otherwise you will really need to double ( and then some ) to actually get a noticable increase in noise.
i wouldnt say that.. 300->500 is well noticable with an R. 800 even more so. and yea as i said, the 4 chan will do for now, if he likes it like that then stick with it, but personally, if i know there is potential to be had, i will make the most of it, and i know a lot of people are the same, thats all.

i think i might go 4 chanel till later on when i get some splits or sumthin then use the 4 channel for me rears and splits and then get the response 800 for the sub. Thanks for the help fellas. time to go shopping :P

that sounds like the best way to do it

Yeah do it. :D
Remember double the power = about +3db
Ported box = +2-5db ( over sealed and only for the octave above the port tune ). I am merly suggesting that for more output, there are other ways around it over power along. Power will reap other benefits like better control, less distortion ( at the same volume ).
