Hi guys,
I got TF 3.0L V6 and it’s done just over 200,000ks. I got a problem with the engine, it's blowing white smoke only when I accelerate hard. At the start I thought it’s the valve steam seals considering the kilometres on the car, so I changed them my self and the problem didn’t go away. I released when I accelerate around 3000rpm while idling the water comes out of the muffler and it make a spray around one meter long. Anyone had a same problem or knows what it is?
A part from that problem the car seams to idle ok, the coolant and oil are also very clean.

Might still be the seals...
However as you said you changed them, are you sure you did it correctly with new gaskets etc??
White smoke is water burning.
White Smoke -> burning water -> shoots about 1m back when accelerator pressed -> valve stem seals
It sounds like they were not replaced, however someone else might be able to come up with where the water is getting through...
Is the engine oil a strong black or is it milky? *Might be piston rings* *Can Also be vacume kick down diagphram which is connected to the trans*

Hi.
You mention white smoke, steam, spray.....
Does the car use any oil? When my Verada's valve stem seals were really
bad, the smoke was more blue than white, and I had to keep adding oil to
the engine. It was really obvious it was using plenty of oil.
You say you've changed the stem seals. Are you confident you did the
job correctly? If you know enough to do that job, it should be pretty
easy for you to work out what's happening with the oil or water.
Does it use any water? That is, have to keep adding water to the radiator and/or
overflow bottle?
If you have to keep adding water, and there are no signs of any leaks, yes it
could be going out of the muffler and that's not a good thing - typical causes
are blown head gaskets, or cracked head.
If the radiator and overflow bottle don't show any water disappearing (check them
both), the the water might just be condensation. Cold engines, cold mornings
especially, you can usually see water dripping out of the exhaust pipe. Water is
a product of petrol combustion, but you usually only see it dripping out on cold
mornings (in my experience).
I suggest you see if the oil and water levels are dropping and then get back to us,
there is plenty of expertise here to help you.

To change the valve stem seals on my car he said would be pointless, after a few months it will start to blow smoke again as the guides are worn.
Sooooooooo im thinking if its happening again it could possibly be your guides...just something to consider

Sounds like water but trany fluid burns white too i think. If your not going through water just keep an eye on all fluids. You sure no one stuck a garden hose in your tail pipe?? Someone may have to stir you up a bit. Worn stem seals will cause blue smoke.. Cracked head (depending where) or blown head gasket = water..

It is possible to disagree with this.
1. White smoke like steam ... seriously when this happens, bend down and smell the steam thing. Does it have oil smell, or nothing smell? (when someone is reving up and down between 2000 and 3500rpm, just a few times will tell while car is stationary in PARK.)
2. How old is the oil and filter in the engine?
This will tell you a lot

Could it also be the rings needing replacing? Quite alot of kilometres it wouldn't surprise me.

Wouldn't be a possible cracked head or head gasket problem? Is it using any coolant? Although the water would pass valve stem seals anyway. As said above could be rings.. ?
