sounds to me like a faulty h/u go back to mitsubishi and get them to replace it under warranty, thats if the car is still under warranty :D.

i never had anything like that happen when i had mine (ive replaced it now)..
they dont have an auto-volume detecting function or something do they?
i noticed the other day driving mums 6, it has Automatic Loudness Control and when you brake, the volume goes down, then when you accellerate (once over 50km/h) it goes back up.. the fast you go the louder it gets.. it isnt huge, but you can notice it..
maybe check in the operators manual (i know its pretty detailed and theres a heap of pages) to see if there is any ALC function..
failing that, go to mitsu if under warranty or an eclipse dealer..

it should have a seperate book for the CD head unit and another book for the stacker.. the book for the CD player itself is nearly as thick as the service and warranty book..
the owners manual for the car wont have anything about it in there because it isnt a genuine mitsubishi cd player..
if you dont hav you book, go back to the dealer you got the car from and ask them to get you one..

I had a problem like that with mine too mate. My deck turned
of then on again, then off and so on. I think i had songs with too much bass at too high a volume (around 50s) and thats when it happened, turning the volume down seemed to do the trick. I had the deck replaced under warranty, its only happened probably once or twice since but its alot better.
***** to the dealers (those that are authorized Ralliart dealers) and get a new one ordered.:D

i dont take my volume above 36 for this reason but my music is rather noisy maybe thats it
im pretty sure i didnt get a seperate manual either
did these things come with remotes? i have options that mention a remote or am i mistaking something
mines done it a few times, but nothing to annoying normly volume just goes down a bit.
and you should have 2 books one for the head unit and one for the stacker oh and same goes for the remotes i have 2 of them as well

the original ralliart HU's came with a credit card sized (a bit smaller even) remote control (Eclipse Model 1602 Remote control) and best of luck trying to find a replacement one now..
I priced one at work through spare parts, took them ages to find it on the computer, and it was $95 at staff discount price (not sure if it was trade price or not), then i was told buy the place that is a dealer for eclipse that i bought my new AVN off that these remotes are now no longer available.. So i dunno where Mitsu get them from..
I just bought a replacement one as i sold my other one with my stock HU.. it was second hand from the states for ~$50AUD.. pretty crappy condition..
try your luck on the net.. i think *think* i have a link somewhere to a place that had a few new ones that they were clearing out.. ill try and find it..

Make sure you get a replacement.. because these are bloody beautiful pieces of equipment! If you take it to your local RALLIART Authorised Dealer.. they should organise something for you!

i think i could turn mine up to about 52 or 54 and there was a crackle from the front passenger side speaker, turn it up to 60 and you couldnt hear it though..
for a stock system it is pretty darn good..

They can handle a bit, it's just that because you're powering them off the headunit they will distort quickly because of the lack of power from the headunit. I've amped my front splits with a 200W amp, I think they are getting 100W RMS each and they don't distort till I turn em up so loud it hurts my ears anyway.

hmmm i may have to get an amp then but ive phoned the dealership and theyre looking into everything for me which is good
im guessing the person who had the car before me gave it too much i noticed it had 16l/100km when i got it and no matter how slow i drove it it wouldnt budge

You reset it tho right? That was probably based on like 3 years of driving (albeit probably HARD driving at 16l/100 :o) I can't even get mine to register 16l/100 combined no matter how hard I drive it.

I know this is digging up the past...
But i had a look at Jass23's car last night cos his rear speakes havent been working for ages.
I pulled everything out and found rather quickly that there's a problem with either the loom or the socket in the deck as when you move it the rears came back on and i lost the left speakers, moved it again and got everything back.
But it also cuts out if you turn it up when the engines not running. With the engine on its fine you can crank it without problems. At 1st i thought it was a bad earth... but now im questioning if theres a voltage supply problem to the deck when the cars (alternators) not running.
Just wondering what dealers have done to fix this so i can tell him what to do next as there is deffinately a problem with the stock system.
He's taken it in before and they added an extra earth but its still cutting out.

sounds like its a faulty deck
does the deck heat up fairly quickly? when the cars off?
the deck doesnt reset itself each time you turn it on?
might be some loose internals inside the deck where you plug the harness in
my advice is to get a new deck

My CD5000 new head unit did that, got it replaced under warranty, and is all good now.
