hey guys.... im thinking of getting my car lowered and sitting on a set of 20inch dolce dc-02 rims {1996 te model}... my question is... is there alot of effort needed to get the rims to sit nicely under the guard? will the guards need to be rolled? inside plastic guard cut / pulled out?

i also want to get the car lowered about 3 - 4 inches... what springs / shocks would you reccomend for this to be possible... and approximatly, how much would the lowering job set me back? {parts/labour ect?}

thanks guys, James. :).

Fitting a wheel and tire package is different for each vehicle, but by following these guidelines your chances for success will be much greater. In most cases you'll have to use the physical dimensions of the current wheel/tire package to determine the dimensions of the new wheel/tire package.

Items which are potential trouble spots:

Tie Rod Ends
A-arms
Brake Calipers
Shocks and Shock Mounts
Inner & Outer Fenders (esp. front tires turned to lock)

there is at least a dozen people with 3rd gens rolling on 20's, also if ya do a search you will find any problems people have had when they have fitted 20's

20's fit easy, no dramas at all.

as for 3-4 inches you might have trouble with. get the rims 1st and see how much u need to lower it then

Get the rims and then worry about lowering. 3-4 inches is a fairly decent drop, not sure if there's even enough room in the guards lol. Kings superlow at the front drop 60mm (~2 1/2 inches) and you'd be pushing it to get to 4, esp. with 20's (assuming overall diameter will need to be increased?).

Need I say more...

Oh yeah.. Check the width of the rims & offsets etc. So that when you lower it and get a camber kit.. they'll tuck nicely and nothing scrubs!
