So, we have the thread of when you're boot is finished and we can see it all blingy and fun, but I want to see what it looked like during the install, i'm mainly interested in where you've placed wood, what you've secured it to etc. This is mainly to help give me some structual ideas and hopefully help other protential boot installs to come along mroe easy. So post your pics and even some comments on what you did, what problems you had and how you overcame them.

Here are a few i have from when i did my install. The only tip i can think off atm is to get the shape of the false floor, tracing the exsiting carpet.

Progress shots.

The first few images are when i only had 1 sub and i had access to the spare. Now that i have 2 there is not quite enough room to get it in and out.

And this is the result > http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=22293&d=1149315951

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

good pics, how much did all the wood and material set ya back? and did you drill the wood into the metal or it's just sitting there?

It was less than $100 worth of materials but i got to much mdf. The wood just sits there but because its the shape of the boot it doesnt move. It is also held down by the sub box which is close to 60kgs and the 2 amps.

Edit. This install can also be completely removed in about 10-20 minutes. Takes a bit longer to put it back in.

WOW!
That wagon install has inspired me.
Now all I gotta do is work out what the hell I'm gonna do with the Dickie Seat :bowrofl:

What's the box under the sub for?

Can I suggest that we at least include one photo of the completed project too.

my old box was tuned to 32Hz, but it was too low for me, so now this one i have is for 40Hz...its a bit louder :P

I can still see out the back window, just above the headlights of any car behind me, which also helps to block out high beams...

It's a 15" sub in a 6cu.ft box.

The spare tire is still accessable with a bit of effort, but as a quick fix instead I keep an aerosol tire pump.

No new holes were drilled into the car at all, therefore everything is attached either to each other or to existing holes in the body. It's tranferable back to stock condition in a few minutes since most of the stock trim is still in place.

looks good mate :D,
have you got dark tinting or an alarm system or something?
cause you dont want someone to walk past and say hey that will look good in my car or that can get me some money to buy stuff
and before you know it, its smash and grab

Yeah, I wouldn't recommend this set up for anyone who parks in a high risk zone... That is one disadvantage to owning a station wagon, but it is tinted and alarmed and I very rarely venture into areas I do not know...

But that's not the point of this thread... it's just to show you how my set up came together.

Does any one else have install pictures, particularly those with fibreglass or metalwork?

I wouldn't mind seeing doors and parcel shelves either...
