i need to get new engine mounts installed in the 2.6 efi tr, its auto as well.. anyone know of anyone in melbourne whos reliable and fairly priced to do the job? how much are the mounts by themselves? i need all 3. cheers.

There's actually 4 mounts.
I went to Bursons auto parts for mine and I was also told not to buy the repco brand as well.
The Burson brand sells a solid front mount with no gaps but the rear is still the same but still firm as the front. The front is cheaper then the rear I think but your looking at around $60 to $70 each. The left and right mounts need to be pressed in and don't come ready in there brackets like the front and rear mounts unless this has changed.

cheers, hmmm my mechanic told me that there are 2 on the sides and one at the back, thats all ive been aware of.. thanks for the prices anyway, i might try and get trade price for it at bursons if it comes down to it

There is one at the front as well. My mechanic is currently doing mine. I think they are about 150 supply and fit each

The front is easy to do yourself I did but the rear is very tricky so I got my mechanic to do it for me my side one are still ok for now.

Or just rip the mount out, squeeze it back into shape (as best you can) and cut up the wall of an old tyre and cram it in the gap where the mount splits and squashes out. I done this on my 3rd gen, cant see why it wont work on a 2nd Gen.
