I was at a family thing yesterday, and there were two 10" subs sitting there boxed, upon asking about them he said "you can have em, I want to get the out of the house" so now I have two 10" Pioneer TS-W254F subs.

Are these subs worth using? What type of gain would I see in my car using both of these along with my current 12" pioneer sub, is it to much bass?

Or should I just sell them?

hmmmm normally the 2 10's will give the same as 1 12", but the 10" are better for the low end bass
im sure that you can run them all together or use a different amp to run the 10's
but its up to you wether you want to keep them or sell em

Think I will use em all, and have the most pimping 1st gen.

hehehe why not...

Congrats on the free subs anyway! ive had to pay for everything attached to my car so far :doubt:

Anyhoo, i would biuld a simple box for them, weather that be ported or sealed or hey even bandpassed....and just see how they go.....
And seeing as there 250WRMS Each that makes for a good combo with a subtle amp.

i'd recommend building a ported box for the 12", with it crossed over at about 50Hz, then nice sealed enclosures for the 10's tuned to 50-120Hz... should give a nice balance of tight bass while still being able to reach those lower frequencies. of course they'd have to be amped seperately

chances are, running them along side your existing 12", the gains from 3 subs will be extremely minimal, and the sound quality will most likely drop. mixing sizes isnt a good idea.

whats your current 12"? if its like a 305C or something, i'd stick with this, the freeair 10's are really quiet weak woofers, usually used in utes n stuff, not worth putting in a sedan as opposed to your existing 12.

Humm, I was going to be tricky and mount the current 12" into a sealed enclosure and then put the two 10's on either side of the boot, but just open air, not in an enclosure.

Freeair subs have stiffer suspensions, but can still be used in an enclosure...

They do require a larger enclosure however than their non-freeair bretheren.

Humm, I will have a play around...

If I don't decide to use them, they will be for sale cheap.
