Hey guys, there are some info I like to clear up:

1) Which Verada model was the first to have the Quad Parabolic Headlights? Or did every Verada model come out with them? ie. since the KE?

2) On the latter (and maybe earlier) Verada models, they have eight speakers. Can someone mind telling me the location of each speaker?

3) I want to know when did Mitsubishi started putting in digital tripmeters. I know that it isnt until the TL Magna when the digital tripmeters appeared. Were they any earlier Veradas with digital tripmeters?

I *think* all KE+ Veradas had parabolics. I think it was only the first Veradas in the KR range that missed out on them. KB would know that one.

3) dont know about verada's but it was TJ series II when they started digital odometers / tripmeters .

4 x 2way speakers? gee I thought they'd at least put them in more 'exotic' places :p

Hmm, I actually thought the front setup are splits, with the tweeters in the two cubbyholes on the corner of the dashboard on top.

lol i didn't realise there was a series II. My mistake, I must have the brochure for only the first series then.

Cool, i should have guessed that already. But I wanted to be sure.

Thanks for the info ppl.

Lights... yep KE and greater... there was a swap from a split set of parabola lights adn then there was a single piece set.. (I believe that the TJ Sports was the first single set.. and assume tht the KJ would have the same)

Speakers... 4x 2way... The split fronts are found in the TJ Sports and (maybe only Series II and the Ralliart)

Trip computers... came in the Advance in the TE range.. The were located in the top of the centre console.. they stayed there up to the KJ when they were moved to the bottom of the Tacho.... I think Booya has a trip on his TE exec...?

Ahh i meant the digital odometers, not the trip computer. Soz.

ie. I do know that the TJ series I still had the analog odometer like the picture below, which is off a TJ Sports/VRX.

Though in the TL the odometer is now digital, and displayed in the same trip computer windows as you say it is at the bottom of the tacho.

But as kewlsolara says, the digitised odometer may have appeared in the TJ series ii which i didnt know about. I was just wondering whether the Verada's had them any earlier.

My TJ is technically a Series 1 by manufacture date, but falls into the kind of grey Series 1.5 bracket.. it has the digital tacho and I bought it before Series II had hit the shelves. When I was hunting around for my car I came across a couple of TJ Series 1 autos that had the digital tacho but all the manuals had the analog tacho.. I just got lucky with my manual.

No idea about the veradas though :D

Are you sure you don't mean the digital odometer, not tacho? You know, the thing that counts the kilometres you have driven? See the posts above.

Never seen a digital tacho in any Magna. :)

That's the only place I have seen one!. A friend's parents had a TN/TP (dunno) elite wagon with a digital dash. It had a digital speedo, with a LED type tacho that moved up and over the speedo. I suppose it didn't have digits (numbers) as such, so probably not that way digital, but it did do RPM in stages of lights, so I reckon you could call it digital.

Yes you are right. In the TN/TP Elite, the dashboard is different to the lower models available, and it does have the so-called digital tacho from memory. I still have the TN/TP brochure somewhere.....

In the original post though, i was indeed referring to the odometer and not the tachometer.

KH Veradas had digital odo and trip meters with the "High contrast" gauge cluster. I remember the training booklet on the KH and the line drawing of the Verada dash cluster showing the Sportshift gearselector postions, I think it was for the 4 speed although my mind keeps coming up with 5 speeds.

I had a TE Advance Sedan and there was no trip computer in the top of the centre console. This was purely a display for the Speed Limit Alarm.

Front speakers in KE+ Veradas are splits. Tweeters are in the dash and covered with a felty-sorta carpet plug. Quiet neat.

The Verada models do have 8 speakers.

2 of 6" x 9" in the rear parcel shelf.
2 of 6" in the front door bottom.
2 tweeters in the cubby behind where the mirrors are.
2 mid range speakers on the top of the dash with carpet pieces covering them.

Start with a good quality head unit and amplifier and this is a really good set up.

Cheers.
