hey all,
i just got a service done on my car, and was told my front brakes are rooted! He said the pads are just about down to metal and the rotors are screwed. I am not surprised cos my brakes have felt bad for a while, i have just been driving pretty softly till i could get money to fix it.

Anyways he quoted $345 for new pads, new rotors, fluid changes, for the front - the rears are fine.
Didnt say what brand but im assuming a pretty basic brand for the pads.
Of course i will be getting quotes elsewhere b4 i do anything, but what does this price sound like? I thought the quote would have been more to be honest?

How about upgrading to some DBA rotors or something of the sort? Because you are doing your front brakes and you have to replace the rotors.. so you might as well get some cross drilled rotors or something.

well how much would DBA crossed drilled rotors set me back? what have people here paid.

dont get the drilled rotors...get the DBA slotted ones...i've heard the drilled ones to crack during high heat...

slotted ones are approx 150 each...

DBA Slotted cross drilled Rotors are 200 each rotor!! (got this quoted for doing mine) + brake pad.

Slotted are around $125 each + brake pad

If you do the front, my advice is to do that back aswell!

i paid $560 for all my Xdrilled and Slotted disks about 2 years ago..

you dont have to, but i think they do recommend it. and i changed mine for the hell of it.. hey, while i had the whole brake assembly apart, i decided to swap the rotors, paint the calipers, and change the pads. :D

thought, well, might as well, while im in the mood to do this =D
