ok this goes out to the ppl who has bolted a 3L manual box to a 3.5L block

i know they fit straight on with little to minor modifaction but would you recomend a 3L box on a 3.5L???

my question is:

have you had any problems with the box being bolted onto the 3.5L???

so far iv only seen one 3L box in a 3.5L and it sits abit higher then what it should or is on a normal 3.5 box, is yours like this or am i just tripping ballz?

i am plannin on doing a conversion but for some reason it dosnt seem right in my mind to put a 3L box in a 3.5L (and its pretty hard finiding a 3.5L box).

so if you guys can clear this up for me it will be great.

also if anyone in vic has done this pliz drop me a PM.

Ash :)

I do know that they strengthened the box when the TH came out with the 3.5

Speak to choonga he has a 3.0L box on a 3.5L engine. It works, but i've heard that the gear ratio's are slightly different in the 3.5L box to take advantage of the extra low down torque. Might be worth looking at that as well.

not sure on boxes but the 3ltr clutch is a heap lighter, but it doesn't have such a big surface area,

so the o.d. of a 3ltr clutch is smaller and lighter, which makes a 3.5 rev easier, might not be noticable to a normal person but it is noticable to people like mechanics ( good ones anyway )

muzza oz has a 3ltr box in his rada and no problems with it yet
