*EDIT* CHARGER IS IN!!*
Hi all,
I kept on saying to myself "I'll open a thread when its finished" but I couldn't resist.
My 99 Verada Xi (4sp Auto) is at G&D Performance in Cranbourne Victoria getting the sprintex kit fitted as we speak. Everything is looking good so far and if all goes well it should be ready by tomorrow or Friday. I've also ordered a high performance fuel pump for my car cause I don't want to have the same issues as Tristian's car just so I can have piece of mind so it doesn't run lean.
My car already has CAI, K&N Panel, Inlet resonators removed, Pacemakers, straight through 2.5" exhaust with high flow CAT-no resonators :P and redback muffler.
Don't know what to expect yet but I'm very impressed with they way cittris' car runs.
Now before I go, I'd like to quote something from the other supercharged thread;
Also i have to say this due to some people if you want to have a go at me or my S/C then you can go and get *** coz i really don't care what these people have to say. Sorry it just infuriates me and it hurts.
I'll be taking the exact same approach.
Anyway, when it’s all done I'll post pics and hopefully put some vids up as well :D
On a lighter note, take it easy,
here is a link for some crazy vids of cittris' supercharger http://www.youtube.com/aussiemagna

I was just thinking to myself, there's been a lot of people buying Sprintex magna supercharger kits lately. Makes me wonder if Sprintex had priced the kit at $6,999 installed like it is now, would they have sold more kits and would we see more supercharged magnas? I definately think so. If the kit had been priced at $7k installed when I first got my car, I'd be supercharged today that's for sure.
Anyway, don't wanna steer this thread off course!

That is awesome dude! Personally I agree with you regarding people bagging out the s/c's. IMO a huge power boost with factory warranty is the best thing you could ask for, and at least your not forever in the shop.

Sounds like you may be able to help... Im looking at getting a new car... a Legnum, which would be ablout 5-7k more than what I could seel my TH for.
So Im toying with going the TH Supercharger route instead purely for something unique and fun... and I have spend so many hours on my stereo I feel loathe to do it again.
So... 7k for the supercharger fitted... but anything else need doing? Exhaust, brakes etcetc? My car is stock.
Dont forget pics when all finished! :D
Cheers

price;
$6990 for the kit + installation (includes 1 yr 20,000km warranty)
$510 for performance feul pump + installation as the standard one doesn't have enough pressure to pump through.
There is other little things like oil change ($40??) and stuff but nothing else major
-Exhaust (at least 2.5") including extractors, CAI & Panel is highly recommend
-Also my car is auto and reqires a tranny cooler which i already got fitted a while back for around $250 installed (sprintex charge a little more) Manuals don't require this
*EDIT*
Brakes would be a good idea but i don't speed anyway, especially after loosing my lisence
My next serious major upgrades will be;
-Front calipers, pads and rotors
-Proper ECU tune
-Anti lift kit
My next stupid upgrades will be;
-RWD conversion
-Boost the kit up to 25 PSI and a monster tacho
-Hydros and a set of 22" chromies
-Respray to candy apple green and have number plates that say "S1KUN7"

Another Wild Stallion is Melbourne!!
After taking a small cruise in Tristians Animal, all I say is....
We need a sub group called "The Crazy @rsed Magna Squad"
Make sure You upgrade your handling and brakes too.
Stock setup just doesn't handle the boosted performance.
Good Luck and I look forward to the results.

Err - the standard fuel pump is usually utilized unless yours is dead. Have a look at the prices on RPW's website for a 2 X flow fuel pump (bosch) for about $200. For the price they are charging, it would want to be pretty good - walbro or something, but even these are in the $350 ish mark on ebay.
I wouldn't up the boost too much, you will not gain much as you get out of the efficiency region (more hot air). Candy apple green is gay too...:D
Kit comes with a CAI...
Interesting what they upsell on these kits from installer to installer... Talk to sprintex themselves in regards to the fuel pump - sounds fishy...
Cheers

yeah i think its fishy too but i'd rather have piece of mind rather than my car on the side of the road.
I don't want anyone to take the "stupid" upgrades seriously lol there would be no way in hell that i would spray my car an ugly colour and up the boost on this kit. lol

man i want a supercharged magna i want a super, turbo, or n/a powered car, anything that moves and moves quick
its rather funny the power band of a magna, it **** 700- 3000, pulls 3000- 4300, then dies again till redline, and the moment its not in first gear, it struggles to pull anywhere

So a tippy FWD Sprintex Supercharged magna runs around 14.5, correct?
Why do I get the feeling there is a comment about how fast a stock manual Ralliart runs down the 1/4 comming??
It might not sound like much, but to put it in perspective, the best I was able to squeeze out of a 4spd auto was a 15.5, and that was with the full catalogue of "bolt on" upgrades + an emanage. It was also in the middle of December, with 32deg air temp, but I can't think of any 4spd autos which have run much better than that.
So if it's safe to say a sprintex kit will knock over a second off the 1/4 mile time of an auto magna, then in my book its a pretty worthwhile mod. I spent a hell of alot more than $7,000 to knock 1.1sec of my personal best ET.
BTW - Tristan, what was your trap speed and 60' times like on this 14.41 pass??
Don't forget we own heavy FWDs with low gear ratios and open diffs, it's gonna be hard to get any power to the ground and 1/4 mile times wont show huge improvements. From rolling starts you will be slaying people, and mph figures will prove this.

I think it is interesting to note that Sprintex designed the supercharger initially for the TL AWD. The majority of people who have bought them on this site have put them on FWD Magnas.
Having had my car supercharged for over a year now I can tell you that it is a worthwhile mod. I have recently had an issue with mine, however the guys at Sprintex resolved the issue without question and I have my car back in top condition. I must say I have not received better customer service and back=up of a product for any car I have ever owned.
Oh and one last point - as of 2 days ago Sprintex only has 13 left, deposits already taken on some and the others expected to be sold prior to them coming off the production line later this month. If you want one I'd suggest you get in and organise it now.

It is good to know that this product has a warranty and that they cover all costs including towtrucks to bring the car back to the shop.. i personally didn't want to do something like what BB has done because I'd be so bloody paranoid that something will go wrong and I'd have to fork out another 2 grand.

Yeah, I should definately be there on sunday so come and check it out.
In regards to things wearing out and servicing.. Since superchargers require WAY less maintence than turbos do (ie; oil changes, etc) it shouldn't be much more maintence required.
Sprintex have a general guide and even after the warranty is over, support for this thing shouldn't be too much of an issue i hope. The only things that i can think of wearing out would be things in the driveline (gearbox, diff, cvs) but the auto kit comes with or recommends that you to have a tranny cooler fitted to prevent any excess wear and tear.
come pick me up b|tch!
you just passed the swear filter, you need to be banned! :D

In addition to that i am almost certain that Sprintec advised that the S/c Only requires a change of belt every 50K and then general oil changes...
Also when you change gears (atleast in my car) it retards the ignition and cuts boost and once you have changed gears it comes back on... Just another way of protecting the G/B

Just came back from my mates house and found that one of the wires was rubbing against the main pulley  the rubber surrounding that covers the wire is a little mashed but luckily it didn't eat through to the wire.. so i got a couple of zip ties and made sure its not touching for now.
Will speak to G&D about this also i'm suppose to have a carbon fibre cover to conseal the main pulley and I'll get this all fixed.
BTW I took my dad for a spin and I think he was ****tin himself lol

hahahaha, thats funny. I had a similar experience with my old man in the car - but I just couldn't bring myself to put the right foot all the way down.
Good to hear you're happy with the car mate!! It's about time there were some 4spd auto magnas that could boast good accelleration.

lol there are much cheaper ways of getting that sound.
Also something that hasn't really been brought up, what changes are there to your regular services? do they happen more frequent? do certain things wear out quicker? etc.
The only specific requirements by Sprintex are to replace the drive belts after 50000kms and abide by manufacturers servicing. The supercharger itself doesn't require ongoing maintenance, however obviously with any boosted engine, additional power wears engine and drivetrain parts quicker. I think Sprintex estimated that engine life will be reduced by up to 20% when I had mine installed last year.
I replace oil & filter every 7500kms as per the manufacturers service manual and just use a higher rated synthetic oil. Either Mobil 1 or the like.

Hey Mike,
Are you likely to stay with the standard intake/airbox or go pod/panel which may give you more up the rev range?
What was Sprintex/GD advice?

I have K&N Panel with a CAI pipe going into the stock snorkel. I think that is just as effective as a pod.
I don't know what sprintex have to say on this issue but I think they prefer you to stick with the original air intake or something similar to my setup.
