If you fabricate a false floor using 6MM mdf using the screw holes alrady existing in you floor as anchor points, you can then bolt any install into the mdf to give a fixed and permanent footing, which is only removable by taking out the screws (or whatever you use to fix your gear to the floor) then removing the floor. It also gives you a flat and level working surface to build off.

PM tonba, I think he has some photo's of the boot I built him for a rough idea of my explaination.

sucks to be you.

As an extra precaution, on your TE there is little switch on your boot latch (open the boot and look at the latch on the lid). There should be a little switch there to lock or open. Basically meaning you cant pop the boot from inside the car, and you need the key to open it. Invaluable info if you didnt know it was there. (i would belive it would be a major deterrent... theives would need a hella lot more time, effort and would make a lot more noise if they were to bust their way into ur boot.

Pity we all find out about this too late

But thanks to Phill (fill?) off here for showing me this as well.

Yeah, you can flick the switch as well as lock the glovebox where the boot release button is..but that's only if u nearly never open ur boot. Also remember to never pump your system in carparks or close to wherever you're going to park. I make a note to myself to turn down the stereo whenever I'm about to park, even before I arrive there.

I know its probably cool for u to be driving around a carpark setting off car alarms with ur stereo, but its not cool when your windows is smashed and stuff is gone :(

Oh, as for securing stuff, u could weld some steel plates to ur car and bolt ur amps on, ur bolt them onto mdf panels. You can go to places and get custom screws made for you, like security torx screws (doubt a garden variety theif would have a torx security screwdriver on them, let alone a size that fits the ones ur using). You could also use big-*** off hex socket bolts, or pop rivets etc etc...

could get a wooden board made up to fit the boot then get them bolted onto that, put some carpet down so they cant see it so when the time comes for them to try and nick it,they will have to use sometin like a hand saw or sometin,i duno just an idea, also intersted how long was your beast parked in the car park?

but u realise once you do that, you risk the chance of them going.. **** it, lets just steal the car.

although they might just be unintellectual delinquints, i wouldnt want to risk it.

i own a te magna, and my amps are bolted under my front seats so if they wanna piss off with my amps they would have to unbolt the seats first.!

thats when a sports exhaust comes into play

my sub box is just tied down to the floor of the car so it takes awhile to actually unclip them before you can take the sub box out, oh and the are flexy straps with a clip in the middle so they can be unclipped when taking the box out

I have my amps screwed to the floor under my seats with a secuirty bit!! i got the idea from working in a high school...u don't leave anything without security or it goes missing within minutes. Also my sub box is 174lt....i had trouble getting it in with two guys, let along running off with it, also its screwed down to the floor with the same security bits (i won't say which ones ;) lol) you can get custom ones which are rarer than just the normal torqe or hex ones. Cheers Also an an alarm would be beneficial

I seem to have a switch near the front firewall of my car, doesn't allow the car motor to start, I love that idea :)

*is now moving his amp from the parcel rack to the boot*

I wouldn't of even put my amp there, firstly everyone can see it clear as day from out of the car, as i'm sure you notice now, also its in direct sunlight, would get extremely hot

dude you better have a job that can pay the loan back easily, too many times ive seen dumb ppl get like a $20,000 loan on a powerfull car then write it off and end up in a lot of debt
