Hey guys, as the first part of my simple mods to my car I'm going to upgrade the head unit. The one I'm looking at is the Alpine CDE-9852 pack (with iPod cable). Nothing too advanced, just a decent noise with my current speakers, with iPod support.

My local CAM dealer is going to sell it to me for $299 (retails for $389), but I didn't ask about installation. If it's easy enough I want to do it myself, otherwise pay him.

So finally my question. How on earth do I remove the stock head unit from my TW Magna?

P.S.
Lots of pics would be great! :D (I know **** about anything in my car)

Shrike, I think it's worth paying for install if you are unsure; a good installer will make sure it sounds best it can and look good in the dash, specially if you are replacing a double Din unit. Also, if there is a warranty issue with the unit most shops will usually want to blame your install rather than their unit. It only costs about $60 to for an install here, someone should be able to point you in the right direction local to you.
Must say I was surprised how much better the stock speakers performed with a decent headunit ( Pioneer deh-p5850mp) in my TL.

decks are easy to install but pulling the dash apart is a pain in the ***
its ok if you've pulled it apart a few times before
if your unsure just get the audio shop to install it shouldnt take them long and wouldnt cost much either maybe an extra 50 bucks
