Hey guys.

Just wondering how much it would cost to replace an engine mount? (Just the labour cost, exlucing the price of the engine mount itself)

It would seem like a costly job considering you have take the engine off the mount and blah blah blah....

Just a rough estimation on price?

While im at it, how much would it cost to (labour as well) replace the drive belts of a magna?

Cheers!

depends on the mount lol if its a front one then u'd be looking $50-80 if its the rear one near the tranny u'd be easily looking around $200. this was what we used to charge at my old shop so i dunno bout nowdays

however someone from the club could help ya with installing them for a carton or so. its pretty easy to do

Being the fat lazy bastard that I am, I recently turned up at a workshop just down the road from where I work and asked if they would install 3 engine mounts in my car (top drivers side, lower front & lower rear). He was hesitant to give me an exact quote, but told me he thought it would be around $250-$300.

Left my car there a few days later and handed over $260 that afternoon when I picked it up, which I was more than happy with.

I think the minimum labour you will pay in Brisbane now is about $70/h and it goes right up to $120+/h - so it pays to shop around.

engine mounts are pretty easy as long as you have the right gear, i have a block and tackle so just chain engine up lift it and get to unbolting engine mounts, the rear can be a real hassle to get to but other than that its not rocket science.

or u can jack up under the sump to lift the engine up enough to get the engine mounts out(the ghetto way)

Thats how I do it, I just make sure i put a bit of wood between the jack itself and the sump.
