I got a TL AWD exhaust finally put on my AWD at Midas on thursday. It has the big tip on it, so I said change the tip, or at least point it down so it doesn't rub the bumper. So what did they do, they put it on (I had from the cat back for change over), said they moved the tip. I was in a rush, so I believed them and took off back to work. On Friday I had to run between camperdown and ryde all day, and I noticed they had not moved the tip, and it was melting my bumper!!!. Bad! It gets worse. I took it somewhere else to get a new tip on (whats the point going back to complete incompitents), and they said that the whole system had been pulled forward!! It was almost in contact with my rear suspension, and all the rubber mounts are on a 45-60 degree angle! The second company put a new tip on, and added a spacer after the cat to correct it.
Who did they screw this up? Is there normally a spacer there, that they didn;t bother to change over? Crazy. So, $65 to get it fitted badly, $85 for the new tip and spacer, plus $150 for the TL AWD VRX system back to the cat (which is a fine price for the system). Something tells me that was no bargin!!

On a side note, i got to look at the AWD system from underneath. Very nice

why buy an exhaust system off of another standard car? just get it made to fit. it doesnt cost that much. and its made to fit, so you dont have any problems.

I'm confused; the AWD system and FWD systems have no hope in hell of being interchangeable. How do I know? I own an AWD and recently a 3L fwd and my Dad owns a muffler shop.

The problem seems to be the fact that cheap and nasty are synonomous with each other unfortunately and the nunce who fitted your system didn't install enuf pipe between the cat and the rh bend after the diff so that the rubber mounts were all stressed and interferring with your suspension and bumper. I actually cut a section out of my rear bumper so that the tips could point straight thru. The droopy tip just doesn't cut it for me.

Just make sure that you're 100% happy with the way it sits and the alignment of the tip and that the muffler barrel is level with the rear bumper when viewed from the rear.

Doesn't it just sh!t you to tears that no one takes our Magnas seriously enuf to do a proper job on them. If it was a 6L Monaro on the other hand..... Do we have a "Redneck" smiley??

I think I'll start a suitably inappropriate thread offering discounts on manifolds etc for the best 'twins avatar'. How long do you think it'll take me to get Bained?
