Aye
Im still lookin for a TE-TF, Fixed my TR back up but I need a new car. Need to know, I found a TE 3.0lt Manual with 150ks for $3300. I thought too good to be true and it was it apparently has "a drivers door scrape" from what the bloke said over the phone. Normally I'd back away from sumthin like this but I sorta need a car really soon and a manual magna is sumthin I'd really like so just need a general opinion if its worth following through and having a look and maybe repair it or just ditch and run.

That's a bargain but then again, that's barely all they're worth these days. He'd be lucky to see 2.5-3 as a trade. Plenty of doors around to replace the bunged one if you feel you need to. More reliable I dare say than your 2nd gen. Btw, lots of major components are shared with even the latest Magnas.

Well no it wouldnt be worth it if the damages exceed 3k as you could get a 3L manual for about 6k, if its just the door then buy it, 3.3k is cheap as chips and manual is even better!!
have a look, if it seems ok then go 4 it!

depends what the $3K damage is though.....
cause for that $3K he might need a total respray = sexy new paintjob
and/or some engine work done? who knows.....without pictures speculating is useless, just for that money, its a steal, some 2nd gens cost more then that

Cheers fellas, Yeah I just needed to be backed up cause I know my dad isn't gunna be impressed. Im going for a look tomorrow (this is if it hasn't been snapped up already) and if it is just the door and the mechanicals are in alright nick then booyah Jarrah has a new magna. If it aint well its back to the trading post, I thought gettin this would be easy but buyin cars is becoming a *****.

Id but it dude. If you are unable to find a door, I know a few places that have shelves upon shelves with 3rd Gen doors on em in all colours.

3rd Gen's are 100 times harder to break than 2nd Gens aswell.

if that one doesn't work out i'll sell you mine for 5 (no lower though). 141,000km, manual, 97TF, great mechanical condition. paint work is a bit off, has a couple dings and scrapes. if the mechanicals are up to scratch on that one go for it. otherwise, think about mine!

Yea the damage was nuthin like what I had imagined, I dont reckon it'll need a new door I think it can just be panel beated out, It will need a respray but for now I just want it in shape. It drives great, alot better than the two Ateras I test drove before this and the manual is fantastic. Now its just a lot of saving and spending till my list of things I wanna do to it is all crossed out.

Looks like you could get away with just a new door skin there.
