Does anyone have a fuel surge tank?

When boostin my car around with low petty (just under half) sum time when i stop quickly my car spluters shakes rattle and rolls (not exactyl)
but it jumps forward then will get a hit of fuel and ease up again....really FRUSTRAING as it sorta looks like it stalls (not a good look in an auto).

I was reading up on surge tanks which stay full the hole time and will gte rid of this prob. Ne comments?

maybe try to clean your injectors.. what you have is a bad case of 'not normal'

:?

i could only point to your injectors.

No its normal. I often burn around the suburbs later after uni and work and with a low fuel tank the revs drop and when i finnish cornering they pick up again. Quite anoying but oh well, i don't really drive hard enough to justify a full fuel surge tank, extra pump etc etc. Also have no where to put it :-k

You might want to get your fuel line air pressure cleaned.. Could be a buildup of crap in it..

I had this same problem in my 86 Ford XF many years ago.. Was a carby model though.. Had the line aired out and worked right as rain after that.

its ok when you have a couple of beers , its when you have a couple of beers then come home and enduldge in a nice bottle of schnapps things get a bit dicey :oops:

Anyway , i get fuel surge quite a lot even when the tank is half full i dont think they built the tank with racing in mind. but anyway all you need to do is get your fuel tank modified or get your pump feeding a smaller tank ( about 1 litre ) and then a pump feeding the injector rail from that and it would be all sweet. its nothing to do with injectors , and when you get fuel surge its not good for the engine at all !

I've got 2 cars with them - it's in the boot, but you still get that petrol smell. Every inch of the system/ lines have been inspected and there's no leak. Every other car I know of that has one/ aftermarket fuel pump, etc gets the smell.

Does the job though.

Im sure it does nicely, when i get my next magna i'll have a surge tank with two bosch fuel pumps feeding the fuel rail, one feeding each 3 cylider bank.

My new magna is going to be all performance, the ultimate sleeper

sorry if i beat you too it blake but mines a fairly good sleeper , 125kw at the wheels outside completely stock .... even got steel radial rims :lol:

i couldnt see why you would need 2 fuel pumps though , just one good one. even people pushing 250kw at the wheels only use 1 pump , well sometimes 2 but one to fill the surge tank and 1 to push the fuel to the engine

Oh when i mean ultimate sleeper i don't mean the first and best, just ultimate in my books :D

As for two fuel pumps, just knowing i have two babies pushing fuel to my motor would be sweet =;
