Most important is eye protection, a splash of resin = game over...
a splash of catalyst, even worse :)

Wow, great tutorial! Makes me think that even I could do something like that :)

i actually had a splash of freshly mixed resin+catalyst smack me straight in the eye... was the worst thing ever... moreso the panick than the pain (but the pain was nothing to laugh at).... flushed out rather well, even after bashing (extream rubbing) myself in the eye for about 30seconds. Really paranoid everytime i ever used it afterwards...
but yer, incredibly painful..

work with the stuff everyday. it takes time to learn how to do it correctly and safely. if you are to go ahead with it try to be as cautious as possible.
don't go to bunnings to get the stuff, give Fibreglass Internation (FGI) a call for all your needs. have a credit card ready

I'm a boat builder so part of the job is fibreglassing in all the structual parts of the boat. the rest is timber fitout, plumbing, aircon, engine, rigging etc whatever you can fit into a luxury sailing yacht

is this the company your companies gets supplies from when u're building boats? Would they have a firm say in brisbane, or do they post it to you? What if you wanted heaps of resin and matting....wouldn't postage be a killer?

Yeah FGI is good, dont need a credit card in Vic, just go down to the factory... about a third of the price compared to bunnings

haha, where's the fun if you don't get itchy for weeks, don't cut your hands, don't ruin your clothes, squirt catalyst in your eyes or risk getting lung cancer and start coughing blood? Life's too short, do some more exciting things:D

Ill try bungee jumping first I think, Dynamat Extreme cuts up your hands enough, I ruin clothes by spilling food on them all, Itchy, well just shave certain areas, as for the eyes you just have to look at ugly chicks to get damage, lung cancer is as easy as passive smoking.... :D

mmmm....dynamat cuts. I didn't notice half of my cuts until i decided to was my hands with dettol..... OUCHIES!1!!
I want to go bungee jumping also....and sky diving, but the thought of another man right up behind you, while the two of u are in weird jumpsuits doesn't float my boat....esp when he most likely gets aroused by the thought of skydiving.

Yeah I hate heights as well so it would make it more scary for someone like me. Still you only live once.
Yeah Dynamat is nasty, didn't notice either till I had a shower.... liked like razor blades had attacked me!!
:bowrofl: eek I don't think he would get that excited, however if your cord breaks you would have something to hold on to:bowrofl: Women do double you, they are usually a bit dyke though :doubt:
