Hey everyone, Ive got a 94 TS magna sedan - manual, and the other day when I pressed the gizmo on my key chain, the doors unlocked then just kept opening, shutting, opening, shutting pretty fast. So i pulled the fuse out so i could just use the key to open it without causing mass mayhem. Ive tried it opening with just the key and it still goes off its head.... Took it up to an auto sparky and he reckons he'd have to have it in all day to see what the problem is... that means alot of $$$ out of my hand. So I thought it cant hurt asking here first. Any ideas? thanks in advance.

i had a mate that had an ef futura. same problem. pull off your door trim and look for a plastic rod. thats wat he stapped. it made the central locking go nuts. it wasnt anything electrical. it was a mechanical fault. hope this helps

Usually its just one door unit causing the problem, unplug the one youve got the trim off and try the remote again.
If it plays up still, plug that one in again and move on to the next. If none of them cure the problem you may have a computer problem. Chances are one of them is out of adjustment or broken like Lenny said. :D

2 pics and a video... I have no idea if this will help.

Luckily the culprit is the first door i opened up. Front drivers. I just cant see whats causing the problem...

I have a TP wagon with an aftermarket central locking system and immobiliser that occasionally does the same thing. It even happens sometimes when driving along. I just stop and disconnect the battery for a minute or so and then re-connect. This always fixes it for me so might be worth a try.

It looks in the vid like its trying to go further than it can.

First give it a bit of a lube, silicon grease spray is good or WD40 etc if ya hafta.

There should be an adjustment for the arm thats in the foreground (that goes from the actuator to the mechanism) at the actuator end. Try moving it a little and see if it improves.
I'd start with moving the arm down a little first.

If theres no adjustment then you might try just bending the arm just slightly more than it is now.
That will allow the actuator to push the arm up a little further before the mechanism locks.
Just bend it a little and try it, if it gets better go further, if it gets worse try straightening it a little.

I hope that helps a little..:D

i cant seem to see what i was looking for.hmmmm see if there is ne broken bits or hanginging bit lying inside your door trim. take off another door and try and compare the two doors see if there is anything loose or broken. if not hmmm im stumped for answers. but i still think theres something loose or broken in there.

theres no adjustment and trying to bend that wire looks like it could do more damage in the process - snap other bits off...
does anyone know if the motor has in built limits or if its meant to be limited somewhere down the line?

Looks like it could be auto elec time.;)

One time we took a trip across victoria in hubby's vl calais and the pop-up headlights started flipping up and down. Turned out to be water getting into the computer through the windscreen.
