hey all, i am having trouble pulling apart my dash and console area to get to the HU. i have looked at the thread about pulling it apart, and i am just wonderin do i need to remove the kick panel below the stering wheel. i am just curious because i dont have the climate control and so i thought maybe i dont need to pull it off.

at the moment, i am having trouble pulling off the panel at the top of the cluster, where the screen is for the fuel consumtion and the speed alert display, HOW DOES THIS COME OFF!!!!

by the way its in a TH

You have to undo that little thing under the steering wheel. That would most likely be why you cant get it out.

There is a white cable which leads from the air vent/display surround down under, below and to the left of the steering wheel.

Remove the shroud under the steering wheel and look up and left and you will see it hooked over a mechanism that operates the fresh air vent.

Personally, I left it unhooked the after the first time because it's quite frankly a pain in the **** to unhook every time I want to play with the centre HVAC/HU.
