how much fuel do you have left?
does it do it all the time or only when the fuel is low
sounds like when you corner the fuel pump cant pump any fuel into the engine cause it has piled up to one side of the tank then when you come out of the corner the fuel returns to normal level and the fuel pump can pump fuel into the engine

yeh i am thinkin that it is because the fuel light did come on BUT it wasnt very low it was like 1/4 tank AND while the engine was choking i was still turning hard and the engine came back whilst i was still cornering so how could the fuel come back if it was still to one side. ne help appreciated

im still going to go with fuel starvation
when the engine kicks back in are you almost out of the corner?
cause im thinking that you have enough petrol in the tank that when you start to starighten up the fuel pump can pump some of the fuel
there was a thread about this ill have a look for it and post it up for ya

Yup sounds like lack of fuel, usually under 1/4 of a tank will cause it if you're cornering hard enough.

I'll wager it is the "fuel starvation" issue caused by crappy mitsubishi fuel tank / pump design.

I've had it at as much as a little under half a tank before I changed my fuel pump. Now with the new (bigger) fuel pump I've still had it happen a couple of times - but only at around the 1/4 of a tank mark. Next step is a surge tank and external pump.

Yep a surge tank will fix all your problems as sedans dont usually have them, wagons quite often do.

I've cornered very hard, trust me I do when the amber light has come on and the needle
is touching the E notch and the engine does not choke...... maybe I've got a surge tank
because of the split tank setup. But definitely sounds like fuel starvation.

Mine does and i know of at least 3 other 3rd gens that do, so maybe the awd does have the surge tank?

You'd know about it if you had a surge tank....... you'll have a 3-5L capacity metal tank, pump/s and fuel lines in your boot.

I'd say it's a case of the AWD fuel tank simply being a better design than the the 2WD models.

Its only happened to me once i can remember. I think i've become less immature and haven't been cornering as hard as i used to.:doubt: Yeah, starvation. wait till u straighten out and you'll be ok.

Fuel starvation. Mine does the same thing when it's almost empty when I could be simply driving sedately around a corner or round about. Did it yesterday infact. It's a good sign to get to a Texaco asap.:)
