ok thought I would replace the sissy horn with air horns had them all wired up and working fine and then all of a sudden.... nothing! Put the original one back on and nothing there either... used test light to check and all fuses are still working in the box inside the car and light works also when testing the relay but then once again nothing... has anyone else had this prob and if so how the heck did you fix it and what is it?!!!! :confused:
Should I have used the relay that came with the air horns instead of the one that was alredy there? Any other suggestions? Maybe not enough power to run the air horn motor (seemed to be ok when it was working then just died rather than seeming to be lacking power)
Any help greatly appreciated!

Connect yur test light to the power in wire on the air horn (with the horn disconnected) and try the horn.

If it lights ok then the fault is in the horn compressor itself.

If it doesnt light then try changing the relay to see if that cures it. :D

I put them on my TJ and recall having the same problem.
The fuse under the bonnet was the problem. ( next to the battery )
Check them all because the one that was blown didnt say it was for the horn.
I fitted the relay suppled with the horns, replaced the fuse and 2 years latter they still scare the **** out of people.
Hope this helps

YES!!

Stock relay is only good for the standard beeper.

Airhorns with a motor-powered compressor will suck a LOT more current,
can be up to 20-30A so you need a relay that can take the load.

Wire it up so that the stock horn supply acts as the trigger to the new relay;
new relay is fed direct from 12V+ (via its own separate fuse).

But now you'll have to find out whether you've blown the stock fuse or the stock relay also.
