Ok now, I've had a set of Tri-airhorns and compressor in my car since december last year and am tired of my pissy weak stock horn. I was waiting to be seen by my friend whos an auto electrician but hes always busy so I'm gonna do it myself (kinda). What is the easiest way to replace the stock horn on a TR (4cyl) with air horns? I know there are other threads (old ones) relating to this but each one has so many different possible ways.

Okely dokely
If your worried about yur switch/relay handling the new horns do this.
Your existing horn should have 2 wires going to it.
1 is 12V and the other is earth via the horn relay.
Use those 2 wires to drive the coil side of the relay that should have come with the horns.
These should be marked 85 and 86 (it doesnt matter which is 12V and which is earth)
There are 2 other connections on the relay numbered 30 and 87. Connect 1 of these to the positive wire of the air horn. Connect the other to the positive terminal of your battery (put a fuse in the line at the battery end, 10amp should do it, 15 max)
The other wire on the air horns just goes to earth (and good metal point, under a bolt etc)
That will get the suckers workin...:D

My driving instructor told me when I got them (last year) that as long as they didnt play a novelty tune and stayed at a steady note then they were legal. I think mine came from super cheap and the big one of the three is busted somehow (i've only had it going for 1/2 a day) so im gonna have a look at it soon, until then I got a semi high pitched horn.
Oh yeah, something I found out that I didnt know, the TR Elites have dual tone stock horns like the veradas.

If water gets up the trumpet of the airhorn/s usually starts rusting out the diaphragm
and the horn stops working - assuming air connection/s are all tight.
So point the horns away from the front or where they can get splashed easily.

All my horns are pointing backwards-towards the middle of the car from infront of the front left wheel, except the smallest one which is pointing straight down becaude I used one bracket to hold them all and it was a bit tough to mount them all with it.
