anyone know who i should talk to in Brisbane area about mufflers for my 99 3.5L \:D/

Hi and welcome. I'm not sure of any in particular. I'd be inclined to just shop around for prices on a straight through muffler. The stock piping is good enough. Lukey have a bolt on or weld on versions. They're similar to the VR-X and Sports ones. There's also Magnaflow units that some guys are happy with. I picked up my bolt on Lukey for $150 and fitted it myself. It doesn't have a tip so that's going to be extra if you're after one.

The sports exhaust on the Magna and VR-X are from Walker. Walker make Lukey. I'd say that the weld on is almost identical to the Mitsu, (Walker), unit and the bolt on is shorter therefor louder and slightly, (read bugger-all), better flow.

So if you had a Magna Sports or VR-X, this muffler would be a waste of money, because it would be very similar to what they already have fitted stock???

There might be a very small gain. Not worth shelling out $150 - $200 for. Use the money on headers.
