^^ as above

but 6x9s with about 500W RMS of bass...why bother? shouldve just put the 6"s up the back, and some decent splits up front to get the best out of the system...otherwise just getting bass on the parcel shelf for no reason :P
my opinion, but 6x9s just arent needed with a boot install ;)

Hey ,

if you have got a sub already, better not using the 6x9. It will produce too much bass at the back, and you won't be able to hear the front sound.

better get yourself a coax speakers for the rear fill and get a good split for the front.

I have got two pioneer amps from my old car. one is 4ch (GMX364), and te other one is 2ch (GMX942). If you are interested, pm me.

The 4ch will do the job of powering your front and rear.

Few questions...

1. Are the watt ratings you quoted for the 6x9s RMS or PMPO? i.e. max or continous ratings?
2. Are you planning on fully sound deadening your doors and rear parcel shelf?
3. What guage power cable are you running to the boot from the battery to power the amps?
4. What is your budget?

Now my reasons for asking:

1. To be honest, you are wasting your time with 6x9s if you already have a sub. 6" coxials or point source speakers produce a much nicer quality sound and will not conflict with the sub. I would forget the 6x9s and get some nice 5.25"-6.5" speakers for the rear. And some nice splits for the front.

2. Anything over 50Wrms and you will need to sound deaden and seal your doors or you will be wasting your money and rattle the door to pieces. Pumping 300Wrms into your front doors will take some serious deadening. And I know of very few splits with that sort of power rating that are affordable to most people on this forum. Hence my question about whether you have quoted RMS or PMPO figures.

3. This will determine whether you can even handle that sort of power.

4. Prolly the biggest deciding factor.

So my point... or suggestions... I have included some rough price guide lines.
Dont use the 6x9s, get some 5.25" coaxials (Focal make some nice ones) for the rear. ($150-$300)
Spend as much as you can on some 6"-6.5" splits for the front, they are the speakers that matter the most. Heaps of options here, Focal, Morell, Hertz, Boston etcetc are some of the most popular. ($200-$400)
A Response 4x130Wrms amp will be great and affordable ($300)
Sound deadening for front doors and boot (around $200)

Hope that helps. Keep us updated!
Cheers
