gday every1
well after finishing my stereo for this year,my mate created this idea to do sometin with my boot lid to make it look amazing,he offered to do a reverse boot install like temagna like his,but i said it wouldnt look rite havin mine and his the same,so anyways after a few weeks of discussion and planning we finally got to work on this idea,it isnt fully finished yet but i faught i would show it off get some feed back let me know wat you think.
btw please dont ask me how to do this, its realy complicated and my mate has the plans for it,i would like feedback on wat every1 thinks.also i wanted to make a note dont let the photos fool you, that lid is position with a door stopper below the hinge to stop it from falling down, and on the other side a small long pin is to hold the other side down so it looks neat.
i am stil in the progress of finishing it with the help of my mate, this is wat it looks like atm,its just creating it so it stays like that and setting it up easier that we are working on,this takes 5 minutes to set up wit the help of some1 else and a few tools and yes it is stable!
anyways i dont want to take all the credit for this so big shout out to my mate rhys(owner of loud1) for creating/installing it and with the help of his brother liam.i also helped out a bit so big thanks to me
for those of you who havnt seen my boot install

all the wiring has been redone to just 1 wire that goes down the left side of the boot,we choose the left side to flip up because yeah it looks beter!this idea i dont believe has been done b4,if any other magna out there rekons they got this post it up!i have done a search on the magna forum and have only found te magnas reverse boot install, havnt seen anythin like this done b4,i do hope no1 else has this, anyways i wil post more pics later on,and yes i got more progress photos taken!but my mate has all the photos so il try and get a hold of them!
just a reminder i would like feedback and your thoughts, please do not ask me how this is done!and no i dont drive around with my boot like this, its created so that it looks the same as the first photo wen i open my boot,i have to ajust the bolts to flip it.
im also thinkin of a name for this, give me some ideas!

If you are using it for shows then its pretty cool.
You will need to remove the right hand side frame though for shows.

abit not alot that left hinge holds it up,it would probaly only snap i guess if there were strong winds or sometin, but i only set it up for show, stil opens like any normal boot, the carpet ,neon and the checkered plate would only be like a few kgs heavier,i can just lift it,but needs 2 ppl to swing it around.or do you mean the actual boot itself?the whole boot set up has lowered it abit at the bak of my car hey.but got no idea how much it all weighs.

A lot of work mate good effort.
However I think you probably thought of this that if winds are strong, you wont want to open you boot. As if it gives way it may land on your windshield.
But everything looks great.

you should do that to the bonnet now:D
thats brilliant hamish :D looking forward to seeing that next time im down or your up. got my boot swinging same a rhys now, altho ive gotta get my lazy ass up and find some decent split pins so i dont have to keep undoing the bolts :P
question.. with rhys boot, he uses split pins.. any idea if it causes much vibration/resonance from his subs?
oh also.. agreed, time to do it to your bonnet dude :)

I think I'd rather be able to open my boot the normal way most of the time and just have it to one side for shows.

:bowrofl: haha
yeah i can stil open my boot normaly dude, thats the whole plan then just set it up for shows and stuff.
nah i mean, when his boot is closed, does he cop boot lid vibrations? one would think a split pin wouldnt be sufficient pressure on the boot lid toi stop them.

yeah it stil vibrates, but you cant realy hear it,i mean his number plates explains his car"loud1" his exhaust and performance upgrades over power the noise of the subwoofers, but yeah it stil vibrates, his subs are pritty powerful.

haha thats awsome
how high does it sit must be at least a couple of meters?
you should put a big spring on it and use it as a catapult lol
with the press of your boot button it'll fling anything thats on top of the lid a few meters
