Welcome :)

XForce headers? Wowh - I have their stainless twin pipe muffler and can't stop loving it. Got any pics of the headers? Depending on the design and other mods for intake, u would gain 5-10 kw and/or similar percentage in torque.

Just the extractors?

Prolly no gain with the rest of the system as stock. Maybe a few kw but nothing you will notice from the drivers seat.

Depends on the extractors. Mine gave a great improvement in low/mid torque. But definitely do the rest of the exhaust with it if you havent already.

Yeah, really the initial mod would be the dump - relatively cheap power gains.

According to your profile, you list "2.5 inch piping" as one of your mods. I assume this is referring to the cat-back section of the exhaust, and I'm also going to make the assumption that if you have done this, then you have replaced the factory muffler.

In all honesty - you've already done the most effective exhaust mod, replacing the factory muffler (if you're car wasn't a VRX to start with). Extractors on a mildly modded car - I think you'll be lucky to see a gain in peak power of 4kW at the wheels.

If they are a good design (and Xforce have a pretty good name), then you should notice a decent improvement in the willingness of the engine to rev, and better accelleration.

Peak power doesn't move much, mid range torque does a fair bit tho.

Apparently Xforce have changed their design. Just make sure woteva ones you get have long primaries, not short ones...they make the difference.

Your next mod would probably be a K&N pod or panel filter. After that your talking cams, then piggy back ECUs.

If they don't fit, how is a 'professional' going to do it?

Do you have an AWD magna?
It's possible that you've bought the wrong extractors for your car (either AWD ext. for a fwd, or fws extractors for an AWD).

Fitted a set of HM headers on my AWD TL VRX. Couldn't have been easier. Yes time consuming, but the headers fit beautifully. Funny that as they were originally designed for the factory Ralliart AWD that didn't go ahead.

Best part is they look factory, and actually make a difference. Getting good fuel economy now and a boost in midrange torque as well. :D

Some extractors do not bolt straight up to the cat. They require a bit of stuffing around to get eveyrthing to fit (eg a bit of cutting and welding of the exhaust). However, getting it all to fit around the engine etc shouldn't be a problem.

Depends where you are in Adelaide, but I got my pacies done at Everlast Mufflers in Modbury. They were alright.
