Hey guys and gals, do any of you know if the wheels of the vrx lancer fit the magna? Also, how wide a tyre can you put on a 16"x6JJ Rim?

As far as i can see it shares the same bolt pattern, but offset would most likely be the thing you'd need to check. I'd take a stab and say the offset will probably be too wrong and the wheels will stick out. Do you know the offset of the rims?

AFAIK the 3rd Gen Magna's ride on 235/45/R16 as standard. The Lancer's are 195/55/R16. So your problem is probably offset and size. We'll see.

I'm not sure what the offset would be... how do find out?

All Magnas with 16's factory fitted run 215/60's

So... let me get this right, the stud pattern for the Magna is 5x114.3 and the offset 38, is that right?

I may be a little out of date here, but dont lancers use a 4 stud pattern and only Genuine EVO's use the 5 stud?

Right... So what variance in offset (if any) is reasonable for the Gen III?

really depends on the width or brand of rim.
If in doubt put them on and if they stick past the guards, if they are they're illegal, if they don't stick out past the guards just check for scrubbing/rubbing against wheel arches.

I have 17x7 rims with + 35 offset on my TJ sports, they just fit inside my guards, with a few mm to spare.

So a wheel with a 38 offset would push it further out from under the guard than say a wheel with a 45 offset? In other words, the 38 offset would be more of a 'dished' wheel and the 45 would be heading toward the more 'convex' look... yeah? (given that we are talking about the same wheel i.e. a 17x7.

yep, the smaller the number, the further out it sits.
