G'day all.
I have a base model TL Awd. I'm buying a new kenwood cd for it. Does anyone know if the factory cd in the base model AWD has a single plug or 2 plugs on the back. Apparently you can buy prewired adapters from this company
http://www.aerpro.com.au/vrg.php
But there appears to be two different plug types for the factory cd's.
I'd like to be able to buy the correct adapter before I start pulling the car apart to change the head units.

thanks in advance
peter

i think its just a single plug on the back
its the same as if it was a single din
you should be able to buy a harness that clips into the main harness
i have seen these for sale on ebay

Just buy the usual mitsubishi spec adapter. from that site, part no AP7011 looks like the correct one. wire it up to your new deck harness, then simply plug itno existing car wiring harness, and the other end into the deck, bolt in, re-install, and have fun.

Just check the amps on the deck. Some new ones require 15amps, instead of the stock 10amps, in which case you will have to run a seperate 15amp lead to your battery (fused of corse)

i will check for u when i get home, i have the printed catalogue (mates with the distributor).. but 1 is the early models... ie 1st/2nd gen and the other is 3rd gen.... from memory... its exactly what i have used (only i went harness > iso > alpine, so its 2 cables but a direct plug in to my HU.
