clay bar is used to take impurities off the top of the paint
looks like blu tack
and comes with a cleaning solution that acts like a lubrecant for the clay

Lol @ ol' fart nice one
Havent seen gumby in ages
Also another trick is when youve run out of detailer just use soapy water in a spray bottle, saves ya some $$$
Clay bar is without doubt some of the best money you could spend

you dont necessarily need to use the "detailer". Once you have washed your car and its still covered in water beads, simply rub it over the surface. All it needs is some lubricant and water is enough, especially after you have washed it. i onyl use the detailer solution if im spot cleaning. e.g (bird$hit, Sap, etc.)

For the Meguiar's product, about $35 and it comes in a pack with "Quick Detailer" aswell.
For proffesional detail use clay bar magic brand and pick the blue one. Use clay bar with the lube.

I didn't get a before pic...But believe me when i say the paint felt like it had tonnes of overspray on it....
never mind the ugly mug in the shot but i think the reflection speaks for itself.......
It feels like new and looks so good................

we clay brand new cars at work because they have industrial fallout from being transported etc..
doesnt matter what age the car is - clayying will make a massive difference..
a few tips. the meguiars one works fine (i use it because its available 'off the shelf').. just cut the bar in 3 or 4 its (obviously goes further that way) and if you drop a bit, DO NOT use it again.. throw it away and use a clean piece.. also, once the bit fils up with gunk and rubbish - throw it away or you'll just scratch your car..
if you car is say 10 years old and has never been done before, 1 bar will usually be enough.. depending on the amount of buildup on it - you may get 3 or 4 vehicles per bar..
i use mine over and over and dont worry toooo much about scratches as i do a full cut/swirl removal anyway..
as tufftr said - its money very well spent if you are looking for a finish that is more than just shiny to the eye..
