Yes I've tried the search function...
Is it possible to clean the MAF sensor (just after the air filter) in 2nd gens? How would you go about it?

Yes it is...
Spray it down liberally with either contact cleaner or throttle body/carb cleaner.. and let dry.
Do not attempt to use it while still wet...

I can't see the point of cleaning a MAF, I pulled mine out after 13ish years of use and there was not a thing in there that wasn't meant to be...
However, I dipped my whole unit in metho to clean of some shavings.

Generally, yeh... they do get a slight film on them after some time.

Metho's ok... but it wont 'blast' the crap off the sensor the same way as a pressure pack will.
