Used, I couldn't justify buying a brand new car at the moment, though when i'm earning more it might be an option. I don't think i'll ever buy brand spanking new, probably just 1-2 year old cars that have SFA kms on them but have gone through their worst depreciation.

I doubt i will ever buy a brand new car. Makes NO sense to me. At least not until im a miiiiillionaire! :P

1st car: Uncle gabe it to me (Cherade 81)

2nd car: Bought at Auction (after the car didnt sell at the fall of the hammer), talked him down $1k.

3rd Car: Bought it ex-demo, talked him into dropping $5k from the sticker price and giving me a warrenty untill 2012. Oh and drive-a-way no more to pay aswell.

my old man sold the car to me, cos i was having trouble finding a car, getting insurance and finances, so my parents sold me the verada for $4000.

I bought my 2000 KJ Verada in July this year
It has the perfect blend of looks, luxury and performance for me (after a few mods that is)
I think i'll hang on to it for quite a few years :D

Bought it used from a pedantic 1st owner, with full log book record, who was upgrading to a TJ AWD.

I bought my 04 in 2006 with 8000k's, from a Mitsu dealer, they bought it at a factory auction. At the time, they had about 6 on the yard so the deal was sweet as(for me anyway)

Bought my TF through private sale for $6800 after saving up for a long time working at Macca's... It frankly pisses me off to see people my age who don't give two ****s about cars just get given brand new ones by their exceedingly rich parents, when the rest of us have to work our asses off for them.

Bought it as a used car in 2004 with my own money.

Bought TF wagon earlier this year, used in excellent condition...replacing JB SJ camira (don't laugh) i bought new in 1983 she's still running 270000 k's original clutch,5 sp gearbox & motor.

Brought New Car - fron Car Yard with $7000 Perrsonal Loan, didn't have much km on it which was good.

I paid 15k for it. The front was resprayed it was already on superlows and had 17 inch rims

BTW it is a 10/2000 TJ S1 VRX

Since then i have spent approx 10k on the car lol

Bought my '00 VR-X in '01 as demo (3000km's), had it for 3.5 years then sold it for $16,500 (166,000 km's)because i was building a house ,then bought it back 1 year later for $11,000 (169,000 km's) with only 3000 extra km's on the clock :nuts: (I really love my car:dancin: )

Bought used because as we all know the Magna's are worth heaps 2nd hand :)

mine was an MMAL loan car to an employee for the first 17,000kms.. next owner had it for 12 months and did 4,000kms..

i bought it this time last year with 21,000kms on - now has 43,000kms

paid $23,500 for it - i thought it was a great deal..

never in my wildest dreams would i have bought a brand new ralliart (A, because i would of been 14 at the time, and B, they were like $50-odd thou.)

Yeah i bought my TF solara off a dealer for 7gz a few months back and have not regretted it... got enough power to boot for me atm (tell i get some good experience levels and more dosh)... only have 106,000kms on it

I got my TH magna from my dads work, it was an ex fleet car which I picked it up for $8000 completely stock, my dad decided he didn’t want me to be crusin around in a old broken down VB commodore which was a free gift from my aunties.
Since then been adding on extras like cd player amp rims and spoiler to make it look a bit more presentable.

Dad bought Sigma & Pajero new, mum bought the TN wagon new...

I did the sums re depreciation :badgrin: then went out and sourced a beaut KJ wagon slightly used + TH sedan in good nick... TOTAL of both probably LESS than what the TN would cost today in 'real' terms.

I bought my Te Advance in 2002 to replace my Ford laser. Sold the car to my brother for 6k making my loss 6k. I replaced the car with a 2000 KH Verada Xi bought used in 2 weeks ago for 12k on road with 5 year warranty and mods included. Ex company car so hasn't got any real klms on board. $50,000 dollar car when new.

Personally I bought the magna as a family car, and it still is even with paras and rims. No lowering done due to my travel habits. But from time to time is begining to look sportier.

got my car new but ticked other as my family paid for it as an 18th birthday present (though i got it 6 months early). i picked a magna because i wanted something unique when done up, cheap on insurance, potential for decent power. It was down to this and a statesman (2nd hand statesman). I prefer manuals :)

1st Mitsu: 1990 Baby blue TP Exec bought privately for $7000 in 1995.
2nd Mitsu: 1995 Green/platinum KS v6xi bought from Agostino Nailsworth for $24550 in
1998 with one year of warranty left (travelled on 45000km).
3rd Mitsu: 2005 KW GTVi AWD bought from Yorke brand new for $45000 (this includes on-
road, spoiler, tint and paint protection). Got 14% discount as I bought it as part of salary
sacrifice which mean $40909 ex GST :D.

picked up the 05/2003 TJ in 11/2003 with 6106km on the clock for $22k. it was part of a bunch of TJs that DAS Fleet had bought for cheap from MMAL, and they were using them as loaners for when people dropped their regular cars off for servicing.

since we're talking about new/used cars, I have only ever bought one car brand new, and that's the Jetta (which I'm leasing, so I don't really own it). other than that I've had a 1973 Datsun 180B (1991 - 1993), a 1986 VL Commodore (1993 - 1995), a 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera (1997 - 2000), a 1990 Acura Legend (2000 - 2003), and a 1998 Honda Civic coupe (2000 - 2003). until the TJ the most I'd ever spent on a car was $10k (US) for the Civic (in 2000).

Just sold that to my son because he wanted a white Magna to modify.
New car is `97 Verada bought off Ebay for $4250, came up well after detailing.

2nd car - My VRX :D, paid for it in cold hard cash, bought 2nd hand. i love magna resale values hehe.

Answering Nexus queries, i bought the VRX cause it was pure style! but also style at a cheap price and big on everything!!

I have had a string of cars over the last 14 years

1. 1984 3.3lt XF falcon was a birthday present from my folks
2. 1987 4.1lt XF after the former one got stolen
3. 1971 Valiant Regal......should never have sold that one
4. 1997 Nissan Patrol.....sold to build new house
5. 1985 SWB Nissan Patrol bought to build house....
6. 1992 SE Magna Wagon just got sold the other day
7. 1994 Nissan Patrol....now the wifes car
8. My new toy KW GTVi AWD Verada......was an MMAL first register Sep 05....was sold to the guy I bought it off with 8000kays......he put 16400km in the next 9mths and I have had it three weeks and it now has 27400kays....

Got a new job and needed a good car to commute with. Value for money wise this was a steal.......Had low kays and all the bell and whistles.....3.5 years factory warranty left and all for low $20's..........better value than ford or holden any day of the week........Resale is not of any concern and being AWD and higher speced I should be able to get at least half my money back if not more in a few years time..........
