View Full Version : Auto Tranny Cooler from 2nd Gen fit 3rd Gen?

As title suggests. Is it possible? I can get a new generic one for ~$100, whereas a used one from a 2nd Gen is like ~$35.

Yes. If you PM me your email address, I'll send you the photos from when my brother and I fitted one to his KE.
We paid $29 for one from Pick n Payless Blacktown, and it took about 3 hours to fit including a transmission flush and filter change. The good thing is, there's already a threaded hole in a perfect position on the subframe that the cooler will fit perfectly to.

are the second gen ones larger than a third gen? i want to upgrade mine too, just for a pice of mind thing

I dont think 3rd Gens have em.
The third gens ones are built into the main radiator.

I'm looking at installing one on my car, does it benefit the transmission at all? like keep it cooler obviously but does this help prevent damage?
