After looking on google I came across this article and it kinda shocked me.

http://www.smh.com.au/news/news/my-day-at-the-show/2006/10/27/1161749301080.html

"Batey then put the slipper into struggling Mitsubishi, letting the media know that its rival had sold just 37 of its 380 sedan to private customers last month."

Yeah Mitsubishi are struggling, Holden aren't doing much better then they were last year despite the saviour Commodore, but why take a dig at Mitsubishi at the motor show? An event which ended up being a Mitsubishi dominated event (note, the TMR 380 is on the front of both mellor magazines, not the Hummer and the main photo of cars from the motor show in the papers and shots on the news were mainly of the TMR 380).

I hope he gets a kick in the guts when the Outlander is released and the Captiva stuggles for sales, or the Commodore drops in sales and doesn't meet expectations and his marketing comes under scrutiny.

Also if this figure is correct, that means like 4% of sales were to private customers last month and 96% fleet/govt. sales and does kinda point out that something needs to be done in the marketing department, and some decent exposure which the TMR 380 created, so on a day when Mitsubishi was out their to promote their products like every other car brand at the AIMS wtf did Batey have to go and make a comment like that?

More than anything, it's this kind of attitude, that you find from no other senior members of a marquee other than Holden, that fuel me hatred for all things Holden. That 37 figure means diddly squat in today's market. If Holden are selling on average 5,000 VE's per month, and Mitsubishi sell around 1000 380's per month, then doing the math Holden sold around 250 VE's to fully private purchasers last month, not including any form of private leasing whatsoever. What a d!ckhead this guy is... wish I was up there now... :doubt:

Yeah exactly, he makes me look more negatively upon the Holden brand now, and if thats his way of marketing then hes just lost people who may have been potential customers.

Yeah this guy is a wanker, if I was in NSW i'd hit him one :D

I also think the guy who wrote this article is a wanker! It just reeks with witty remarks, and a cynical approach to everything.

the Hummer is smaller than some four wheel drives on the market and more fuel efficient, but as statements go, the Hummer is still a big one. Arnold Schwarzenegger has one - enough said.

The H3 is more fuel efficient than a landcruiser I'd imagine, and Arnold has a H2, so whats your point? :doubt:

Yeah and even Arnie has now sold the H2 for something more politically correct...

A Canyonero like Krusty The Clown's:

Can you name the truck with four wheel drive,
Smells like a steak, and seats thirty five?
Canyonero! Canyonero!
Well, it goes real slow with the hammer down
It's the country-fried truck endorsed by a clown
Canyonero! Canyonero!
Hey, hey!
Twelve yards long, two lanes wide,
Sixty five tons of American pride!
Canyonero! Canyonero!
Top of the line in utility sports,
Unexplained fires are a matter for the courts!
Canyonero! Canyonero!
She blinds everybody with her super high beams
She's a squirrel-squashin', deer-smackin' drivin' machine
Canyonero! Canyonero! Canyonero!
Whoa, Canyonero! Whoa!

The H3 is just a GMC Sierra/Chev Tahoe with a hummer face on it ! Its so stupid! Its not the military vehicle people think. I lived in the US for a few years and saw its release there. People should buy a landcrusier/Prado/Patrol/Pathfinder over this steaming hot crap any day!

this is going to sound outrageous, but made in america cars are complete crap. Imagine early '80 australian build quality! I'm from Chrysler heritage (hence the mitsubishi link), and I was so disappointed in the what was served up. I can tell you heaps of stories. New Fords that took 1 month of repairs before they were driveable, Chryslers are useless after 60,000 miles etc. Toyota's were still good though.
I had a '78 imapala V8 wagon for the month I was allowed to drive (after sept 11, I couldn't get a licence because I didn't have a particular work visa  )

It may well be a 'refaced' SUV, nontheless I still like it. My response was in regards to the article which didn't have its facts straight. I know first hand what the build quality is like on American built cars, but I would still buy the H3. Its fairly comfy inside, I don't do rough offroading, and its a nice alternative to a bland landcruiser.

The Craptiva will sell by the bucketload because it's cheap and just does enough. The labour and parts cost them bugger all because of the korean connection and so they are able to sell the Craptiva so cheap.
