had 100K service done about a month ago, i used to avg, 12-13 L/100

now its constantly hovering around 15

thaught it was me driving abit more 'spirited' so after a few tanks and no change, filled up on Vortex98, reset ecu, drove like a grandma, same kind of milage and best i could pull is 14.4.

could i need to change fuel filter/O2 sensor?

theres obviously something that not liking the new service? i checked the O2 on the CAT and appears to still be connected.

is the O2 sensor harness located on passenger footwell for TJ? so i can check it with a multimeter.

just so u know, the 100k service had, 6 new plugs, oil and filter, cambelt, coolant

nothing out of the ordinary. any ideas?

Yes it is. It's a four wire plug.

Yep definetly check it with a multimeter. Pull down a copy of the service manual if your on cable or ADSL you will find a link on this forum. Follow the diagnostic steps in the manual its written quite well. I used to hover around those figures now im in the 10's-12's just with an 02 sensor change.

Another option is to get a scan (a computer than interfaces with your car's ECU) at an auto sparky. I had my sensors checked today electronically (Having a smilar problem to you), they could look at the oxy sensor in real time and comfirm it was working fine. Having a scan could save you some hassle.

If you are on good terms with your auto sparky you can get done for free, otherwise expect to pay roughly $50.

If you are talking about an OBD type scan they are almost useless when it comes to O2 sensors. Measure the output with a multimeter. Whats an O2 sensor cost anyway?

hmm really? That's not what I wanted to hear, I thought I had eliminated the O2 sensor as a cause of my high fule consumption (14L/100km in the city when I grandpa it).

The guy showed me a real time graph of the oxy sensor, with a wave fluctating about every 0.5 seconds..is this what you are talking about? I really should have payed more attention to exactly what he was using at the time, I was a bit out of it.

Im about to get my timing belt and all 6 spark plugs done. I was gonna wait till 90,000km but I might as welll them now, I only have 5,000 to go till 90k anyway. I'm also getting my injectors acid-cleaned. If my economy is still high, then I'll investigate the oxy senso further, or just replace it.

Well I have been told (and experienced with my old TE)with the normal OBD scan that the O2 sensor wasnt picked up even though it wasnt working well.

Fourstar,

One possibility for you to check is that they may have not put the timing belt on with the correct valve timing.
