Just wondering what prices people paid for their muffler?
What brand it is and whereabouts they got it?
Preferably QLD'ers but to compare anyone from anywhere really..
I'm mainly looking at the Lukey LR2779 at the moment.. Firstly wanna see what they are priced at.
Thanks

I don't live too far from Slacks Creek.. about 5 mins away.. but Redav paid $150 for his bolt on and installed it himself. $70 say to install the thing.. I might as well drag Redav over to my place and get him to help me install it and give him $20/$30 bucks..
Anyone else get their muffler for cheap?

I'm looking at getting a muff too prolly in the next 2 weeks and I'm in Brisbane I'll let ya know wot i find out. At the moment I'm going to try Carline at Enoggera on Pickering Street for starters cos they're close and mates have got exhaust work done there before and are quite happy with them... And they specialise in Lukey exhausts :o

I got mine from eBay :D
cost me $90 delivered from WA!
and then $40 for welding it into place...
The cutting of the pumper was free :D They gave me an air powered hacksaw at the muffler place and I said yipee and cut it out :D

X Force fully stainless steel can from Australia's Best in Sydney (sorry).
Big can with twin straight tips on it. Veeery nice! Had to be welded, no bolt-on options available, due to it being universal can. Cost? 380 AUD all up - yeah, not that cheap but. Bit louder than those Lukey cans.
But million times better looking.... :D

Bugger..
Is the bolt on more expensive or is it the same price? If so.. I might as well start looking on eBay and hope I get an auction like TBuTchers..

When I put the DOHC in I'll be talking to my mate from Windsor Exhaust to get a new muffler, I want something that has more balls. Not neccessarily loud...but has that fat grumble, and the poppy/backfirish noise that you get off bigger cars when you take your foot off the throttle...
That sound is awesome!

I paid $400 to have a redback cat back bolt on system installed. Redback obviously don't know the meaning of bolt on though. This job took 2 FECKING DAYS because the centre section (from cat to rear muffler) was too long. When redback were called they said "he must have a custom exhaust or headers then". Yes idiots. I paid money for a cunstom exhaust that looked and sounded stock. Well finally redback paid to have a different guy cut and weld it so it would fit.
After all that though I must say it sounds nice. It grumbles at idle. It pops slighty when you're up it then back off. And it has blown a few small little flames when i've raced it. Nothing better then beating someone then popping a little flame as a way to say SUCK IT.
This is my exhaust experience. I hope people get the sound but without my hassle.

My Lukey AL4-5597 bolt on cost $250 installed from Grapnel/Carline. Its only about two thirds the size of the stock muffler. Only took them about 15mins-easy. It has a low rumble and is not very loud (what I want). Engine seems to rev more freely now. The exit pipe is lower and straight, so no need to cut the rear bumper. 8)
