I've just been reading all the posts I can find about oil leaks in 2nd gens, so yes I'm aware the topic has been done to death. I own a TS V6 with an oil leak(s).



As someone keen on doing it themselves (read 'poor'), What's the best way of going about finding/fixing oil leaks? Which ones really need to be fixed by a real mechanic?

Depends on how adventurous you want to be...

If the source of the leak is not clearly evident, try degreasing the whole area covered and go for a drive. You should be able to easily see where its coming from.
