Hey guys...
I was wondering if anyone ahd any info on how to do a tj timing belt.. either a copy of the workshop manual or some advice. i have tried all my local libaries and dont want to buy one (even tho i work in the car industry)
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Remove the following - washer bottle, external belts, p/s belt adjuster pulley, driver side engine mount(support engine by jack), top 2 timing covers, crank pulley(time engine first) alternator (just sit to the side), engine mount bracket, bottom timing cover, crank angle sensor wire, timing belt adjuster (put pin in before removal), timing belt.
Installation is a reversal of that.

Not an easy job getting the parts off and back on to get at the timing belt. EBay for about $8 you can get service CDs with engine parts drawings that will help you.
You can do it. I did but next time I'd probably be happy to get someone else to do it.
I also did the water pump at the same time as you have to remove the same parts to get at it.

Its always a good idea to have a friend there who knows what there doing
It makes life alot easier especially when if you do something wrong they can rectify it
and yeah, do your water pump, as scorpian said, if your water pump decides to go on you in 1000k's, guess what belt has to come off again!
