Hi all,

This is to all u DIY maintenace people or professional mechanics. Im really wanting to do alot of the maintenace on the car myself from now on. I am extremely inexperienced and i would just like to know is the magna pretty good to the home mechanic? Im looking to do my own oil changes, filter changes whether it be fuel, oil or air filter, spark plugs, belts stuff like that. Im sick of being ripped off. Any type of comment is appreciated.

Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris,
use the seacrh function online and you will find the answer to most of your questions, as well as some "how to" articles.

Grab a copy of the online manuals.

In general I find the Magna very easy to work on, if a bit fiddly at times

I have worked on them for years however so have been a bit spoilt.

I've always done all work on all my cars, its saves me a heap of $$$ and when its done and it all works good, you cant beat the feeling. My dad is a diesel mechanic so i have a good knowledge of engines and anything mechanical. The only work i dont do myself is tyres and wheel alignments. Before i got the magna, i had an 88 celica, and before i sold it, i took the engine and gearbox out and stripped the motor down by myself. I used the book as a reference becuse you will need it for the torque specifications and tightening sequences.
There really is no better feeling than that of a job well done.
