I have a 2G Magna wagon with Rear-ward facing dickie seat (that must stay for now).
So although there is some space between the rear seat and the back of the dickie seat, it's not huge.
I was looking around at subs and found this one...
- http://www.soundstream.com.au/prod_sub.html (then click on Xstream)
- Soundstream Xstream XS-12/2
The website says (see pic):
Recommended Enclosure - Sealed (Ft3): 1.0
Does this mean a 1 foot cubed box without a port? Coz, that doesn't sound too big.

A 30 litre cubed box should be fine for a 12", which is a foot box.
And I recommend just get it sealed, not ported, unless you really care about SQ and/or are going to go into SPL.
Edit: What amp are you going to be running?

Thanks.
As for Amp - wouldn't have a clue. probably ask the place I get it installed. or mayby look around for a secondhand 2ch (bridged) or mono to suit (budget is getting tight). Anything I should specifically loook for. I don't know a lot about subs & amps.

Get a Jaycar monoblock amp. If you're trying to stick on a budget, then they're easily the best in the pricerange. I think they're about $150.

What RMS watts AMP would you suggest?
Also, is it better to run this sub at 2ohm or 4ohm - I notice the amps all say different watts at different volts & ohms. It all gets confusing?
Also, if one sub needs Ft3 1.0. What would two of these subs need? ...and is there really much benefit to installing 2 subs (other than looks)? I'd love to have a setup like revin_11's...

...with the two subs on the V angle. But just not sure if I have the room for the sub-box.

Thats for a 2 channel, a Monoblock is about $300-$400 depending on where you buy it from
Puck, 1.0ft3 would be about 35cm x 35cm x 30cm
So its not massive but would provide ampol boom
2ohm would be fine, thats what i run mine at and no probs so far

Two subs= more doof. That's about it. :P
But when you get to having two subs, you have to start worrying about the state of your battery.
yar, go the ole 30L selaed box, dont wanna go straying into ported boxes unless you either have the plans in front of you, or a firm knowledge of how to design them :)
little Response 2x150 would power that nicely, bridged :) about $250 too, cheap cheap

2 subs is louder, takes up more room, and the increased cone area leads to less stress on the single sub to produce the same result, which overall, will increase the sound quality of the subs.

1cuft = 28litres.
Having 2 subs does not mean you have to worry about your battery or alernator. I could run 50 Boss subs off a stock magna battery without any upgrades. Its all about the amount of current your amp(s) pull.
Go 2x 12inch subs if you want the equivalent of about a 20inch sub :D If you can spare the room, why not have more.

Thanks for all the feedback and advice.
But what about my original problem, box size?
If one sub needs Ft3 1.0. (1 cubic foot, 28-30L Box)
What would two of these subs need?

Lol, twice that, each sub needs its own box
Take my box for example, its actually sealed and split down the middle acting like 2 seperate boxes
They are almost 60L per box though

Yeah, thought it'd be that. But ya never know.
And I'm guessing a bigger amp too.

As far as power goes, look to match the RMS of the sub and then find an amp with at least at or idealy matching the RMS + 20% or so. There are exceptions like my G5, rated at 450WRMS, it gets 600WRMS daily from me and it still wants more. Boston recommend the GT28 ( 1350WRMSx 1 2ohm 14.4V ) to run a DVC G5... go figure.
If you have more than 1 sub, just times the RMS of a single sub by how many you have ( i.e 3x 300WRMS subs would be 900WRMS ).
