I removed the outer towbar with the ball on it about a month ago and left the towing electrical connection there (ductaped under the car)as it seemed to connect up the the laft tail light and looked a bit tricky.
Anyway the damn think got ripped off today, first the indicators didnt work, hazard lights didnt work, brake lights didnt work. So like a madman i was trying to touch the frayed wires to each other and various metal objects cause I have no freeking idea about electrical stuff.
So I gave up, low and behold i drove the car into the garage and gave them another try and they are working, but hazard lights still aren't working and the boot release on the keyring isn't working. I can hear a clicking in the ignition when i press the boot release button but nothing happens, any ideas?

That's a great way to blow some fuses...

You should tape each wire up, to ensure they cannot short out to any of the other wires.
