Been looking around for a 3rd gen with a 3L manual. Just took a 97 for a blat and the dude said it was a sports. It didn't say sports on the dials but not sure if they did or didn't, didn't have an airbag or power windows so once again not sure if it was a sports or not. had sports on the front seats only. 175,000 on the clock
What power do they have as stock, and this thing also had a sporty from the cat back but didn't sound as good as DRAX's
They were asking 12G from a dealership not sure if thats a good price or not. any other things i should look for???

12grand for 175,000k's? Don't even begin to think about purchasing it! If you're looking at spending that sort of money, if you HAVE to get a magna, you could probably get one with under 100,000 on it. After 100,000 problems start to develop, at 150,000 you will need to replace quite a fair few things.

Don't take my word on it but personally I wouldn't pay a cent more than 9k... considering you can pick up a new excel (for comparison purposes only) which does the same A-B job for around 11k, or on the performance side a 180 or Sylvia (turbo cars) for around 10k.

May be it was very first Sports mitsu made. 97 TF ,
should check the books,
get the Vin number and get it checked at mitsu dealer ,
12Grand for 175K and no airbag/no power and manual and 97 TF/TE is very very high price.
and i think it will be V6 3.0
with those k's and no features at all should be under 10 grand by all means

they how come you got ABS, and airbag? you sure yours got airbag, cos i thought mine did, till i looked at the screw on the side of the steerig wheel, and if its the phillips head, then you dont have a airbag. if its some funny kinda screw, then you do..

It was $12990. They offered $1,000 trade in.. told them we wanted $2,500 for trade in and they accepted (they basically had to and were pretty pissed about it) - this was a KF Laser just short of 200,000 Km on the clock, 3 spd auto about to cark it and the engine going through a litre of oil per week. Thrashed continuosly and used for pizza deliveries 5 - 7 days a week.. ~ 50,000 Km done in its last 11 months. So the price after trade was $11,490 or something which I know to you guys is fairly huge :) I'm happy with my purchase though.
Thing is that I could have gone down south and bought something there but then there is the cost of getting there, getting back and with the car - fly down drive back?.. fuel costs, etc.. warranty issues, etc.. trying to sell my heap of shit car for as much as possible.. when all said and done it was much easier to buy locally. And the car is in tip top condition too considering it is almost 7 years old.
Hey Bladebla,
WHen you say alot of things need changing after 150000kms, what are u talking about in particular? My car is slowly creeping into that territory.......

I bout a TF Manual.. with Manual everything, Sony HU and 10 CD Stacker and some sort of Amp... 110000kms
$4500 :D
2mths ago it was in the Trading post in Woolongong... :D
Intereior is a bit untidy... and there is some damage to one side... but I reckon it was a great price.. and is drivable ...
Point being look around and do not be afraid to offer a lower price than what was advertised (they wanted $6400 and I offered him $4500 amd he took)

My first post. Hello all and a happy new year.
Like Bladebla I would also be interested in what parts you think would be wearing out at 150K. My father and I are both thinking about purchasing TJ KJ magna verada's in the near future. We went to a dealer a few days ago and asked about the 100K service and was told that it would cost between 8 and 900 dollars. Which includes all fluids, a timing belt and new spark plugs. Magnas are reputedly very reliable but don't hold their value very well, which makes them great buys on the second hand market. This is the place to find any faults that should occur, so anyone got any ideas about what to look for/problems. How long do the engines last? Has anyone got high miles on theirs, I would expect that they should be able to cover at least 300K without major problems.
Thanks
looking forward to spending time on the forum in future.
