hey all
does anyone with a lowered (fairly low) 3rd gen get a rear swaying movement (even on a straight road with just minor waves/bumps)
mine has done it ever since i remember lowering it (rear used to be over the tyre by an inch) now i have coilovers (have had them for about a year now) and the car sits higher now cos i dont want it that low anymore and it still does it.
very annoying
any guesses as to what it could be? or is it a characteristic of fairly low fwd magnas

I only got kings lows...but i do get a little bit of swaying not driving straight though..but its controllable..
something lose maybe...maybe get a wheel alignment done...camber could be off.

mine doesn't do it.. swap ya for your coilovers!lol
I'd be checking sway bar bushes, Nolathane style replacements are a pretty cheap upgrade. If that helps a bit you could think about a fatter swaybar, there's usually someone selling a vrx bar here somewhere. But a wheel alignment front and rear is a good idea too.

mine used to do it. you'd drive over a join in a bridge and it would feel like the rear steps sideways about 2 or 3cm.... not alot, but you can feel it.
i just put up with it, it only did it on one particular section of road for me so i didnt bother getting it looked at :shifty:

i think my car is a lil bit lower than std, only by about 4" or so, and i have none of this problem you mention....
although my car is AWD
i do have the sideways thing though.... but only in the wet :(

Have your rear end alignment checked. Sounds like the toe in/toe out may be out. Had a similar problem that on some bumps the rear of the vehicle "flicked" out slightly. An alignment fixed it. And yes, it had been lowered then about 30mm.

i had my alignments done reguarly (5,000k's) and still had the problem. a bigger/better sway bar might help, it might even be the bushes
i had this problem in a big way.
got it fixed with a wheel alignment on the rear :D

I hate to ask, but what is a sway bar?

yeah i had this ( as u know dave)
it was peachy one day, the next it felt like the back end was on ice when i was doing 100, mechanics couldnrt find anything wrong, was a huge headache.
then my car was left off the road for 4 months i dreove it again and it was gone:S...very strange,
now ive got new shocks, and when i lower it back down again i hope the swaying is gone

I Have a 22mm adjustable in the rear and dont have an issue.. handles really good too.. no movement in the rear either.. Mines superlows plus 1.5inchs..:)
Only thing i can think of is the toe on the rear wheels.. -neg toe will cause a taily rear end.. try a rear wheel alignment..:)

We had one in at work with the same problem, found the outer lower control arm bushes were stuffed, replaced them and a wheel alignment = 1 happy customer

Can you be more specific on which ones were replaced?

looking at the pic it was the bush in the lower left, between the lower control arm and the hub. I think we got the parts from Pedders.
Jack it up and pull the bottom of the wheel, if this is your problem it will be very obvious.

i used to have chopped king superlows sitting about the same(an inch under the rear gaurd) and yeah it used to do it bad..unnerving at times even:shock:
ive now had for a while;coilovers, whiteline rear camber kit and a HD rear swaybar put it all in an got a wheel alignment and the back end was then as solid as a mofo:badgrin: .. an still sittng at about half an inch under the gaurds.
...tho after about 6 or so months when it needs another wheel alghnment it stars feeling not qute as solid on the road
