hi guys

I was thinking of getting my mates mint TR its a manual V6 done about 220km on it and was wondering if i could put a 3.0l from a TE or TF or even a 3.5l in there with ease ive never had a TR but was wondering on how good they are in fuel and reliability thanks.

the tr engine rotates the opposite way to te engine im sure. thats why first and senond gen engines are different to the 3rd gen's i think. but im sure some one else will explain it better.

yea there fantastic car but u will ahve trouble transplanting a 3.5ltr engine into the TR as with the TR motor's the "front" of the engin is on the right or the car (if u are looking at the engine from the front of the car, how u normaly look at an engine) where as the front of the 3.5ltr engine is on the left of the car (if u are looking at the engine from the front of the car, how u normaly look at an engine) if ya get what i mean :D hope this makes sense, Nick

like in the pictures the left one is a 3.5ltr and the right one is my 3ltr

Let me put it this way, for the money you would have to spend you could buy a 3rd gen TE or TF for a tiny bit more of the price.

The V6 engines are already good on the 2nd gens, no point in replacing the engine, just get upgraded parts if it dosent have it already. Upgraded exhaust, K&N , etc

Manual will be nice aswell, as long as your mates car has been serviced properly at each interval, there shouldnt be a problem.

I seen a TE for $4000.00 and had only 150K's

Yeh ive seen plenty of Te's for 4k, i even saw a 3L Te with 180k on the clock for 3.5k, so yeh just have a look around!!
